Did they cancel or was the entire fest halted cause of weather?

My friend said Feist's set was cut short and about half an hour before the headliners (KOL/Pretty Lights) were supposed to go on, they canceled their performances. Glad I'm seeing Dinosaur Jr tonight after 1am inside @ Irving Plaza!

Beach House also tweeting their set was cut short tonight.

Unfortunate, pretty awesome lineup but sounds like a disaster.

They shut the festival down for the night. Current word is the rest of the festival will go on tomorrow. We'll see.

I was there from ~2 through 6.30. Of Monsters and Men were *awesome*. But ... it was cold, and very, very, very, very wet - NY got hit with the remnant of tropical storm Andrea and it *dumped* on us. All afternoon. Well before I left all of the grass in the entire venue had turned to mud, and much of the field was deep enough in mud that it would overflow tennis shoes. By 3pm they'd rolled up the video screens because of wind (it was hilarious watching the little tiny bit which showed out the bottom of the roll-up, still showing a broadcast). I can easily imagine that in the dark things turned unsafe.

I think >>disaster<< is overstating it. It was just really incredibly wet.

Saw this from a pitchfork writer and just assumed it was a disaster:

Sounds like Governors Ball is the biggest NY/NJ festival disaster since Field Day 2003...where I watched Ours open in soaking wet socks.

Today was much better, although it's still a mud pit.

Day 2 was a lot better although there was still tons of mud. Great sets from Japandroids, Fucked Up, Cut Copy, tons of people for Kendrick Lamar. I was extremely disappointed with Animal Collective, however. They started things off with "Did You See the Words" and had a great mix going. Halfway through "What Would I Want? Sky" Avey stopped to request a sound check and they picked things back up for "My Girls" and "Peacebone" but only made it halway though "Purple Bottle" before Avey stopped short again and ended their set 10 minutes early. A pretty shitty thing to do to the fans they braved the conditions to stick around all day to see the band.

I actually like PTM's music quite a bit but I will say that live, they're generally a mediocre band. I caught them last yearr at OSL and walked away slightly disappointed. I also saw a bit of their live broadcast from their set at Coachella this year and that too felt pretty lukewarm. Never been a major CWK fan, so I'd probably echo the sentiments of watching Deerhunter instead, although it looks like Im coming in a little late with a response.

an extremely muddy but fun weekend. the rain was reallllly bad on friday. feist played one song and stopped, beach house played a few and stopped. only fully/officially canceled sets were kings of leon and pretty lights. kings of leon ended up playing saturday anyway. the weather was great the rest of the weekend, but there was mud. and more mud. and then some more. as long as you had boots though, it was fine. best sets i saw were cut copy, foals, divine fits, nas, deerhunter and kanye. i was most excited for and most disappointed by animal collective. agreed with the person above.. it was really shitty of them to just give up on the songs and stop early. well, it was more dave than the others it seemed like. bummer. until nex year.

Bob Dylan was pretty terrible when I saw him tour with Wilco and MMJ last summer.

Spooks didn't most of those acts besides Dylan, Outkast and Disclosure play last year?

imo, i would think the Lumineers & Cut Copy won't play again this year since they did play last year....right?

Yep you're right! I edited some of those acts. Yes Dylan was absolutely garbage when I saw him too last summer.

Spooks, i think forgot one more. Azelia Banks was there last year as well.

hopefully this year it won't be wet & muddy...yes? although, it was a lot of fun standing alongside a deep puddle and people asking me if they can go in front of me and immediately fall into a muddy puddle. twas hilarious.
