This. If we wanted to retaliate we would've thrown a fastball at his head when we had a substantial lead. Beam him next year, keep it clean for now.

I am trying to watch the Tigers game via MLB.tv's feed but most of the options are ridiculous to watch. What I am going with now is the Quad Mode because none of the camera angles stay worthwhile (though of course the Center Field camera is great until somebody hits the ball) but the four cameras are not synced. It's like instant replay or something.

Well at least Cano finally got a hit. I never thought the Yankees were going to make the world series to begin with but I just don't understand how a team as a whole could just become so bad at the plate.

For what it's worth they were synced when I switched to my phone.

Also, to be clear, I meant that the individual camera options are ridiculous to watch, not that the entirety of the feed is ridiculous.

But it is not the '40s. I also could have gone downstairs and watched the game in a bar.

Unfortunately, this was all pretty predictable. Their entire post-2009 model has been to slug the hell out of everyone else and to live by the long ball for over half of their run production. That model can help you destroy half of the league and make the playoffs almost every year, but its going to break down when you start facing plus starting pitching and bullpens in a playoff series, where you won't be able to get into slugfests every game. Granted, no one could have forseen that everyone would stop hitting at the same time, but what happened in the last two series (even the one that we won) is exactly the same thing that happened against the Rangers in 2010 and Detriot last year: running into quality pitching and seeing the homers dry up.

What has made this year incredibly disappointing and frustrating is that the Yankees have actually had championship-caliber starting pitching. All squandered.

I've been watching the ALCS here when I can't make it to a bar or a friend's house: http://ufreetv.com/tbs.html

It's pretty crappy quality, but it's better than dealing with the stupid camera angles that the MLB.tv package gives you.

A Yankee comeback is possible since we potentially have two CC starts, but it would require people like Cano and Granderson to stop swinging at every pitch that they see. Starting tonight against one of the best strikeout pitchers in the American League.

Not much "Cowboy-up" vibe with this Yankee squad. I see it ending tonight.

For real... our starters have played so well. Everyone on our team stopped hitting at once. I feel bad for guys like Ichiro who came over from another team and have to watch all our best players suck so fucking much in the most crucial time. Even worse that Ichiro's waited 11 years to get back into the playoffs and he has no help now that we're here.

We reeaaaaaaally needed to pull that game out in the 9th last night. I don't see any way we can come back now

This has been the most frustrating post-season I can remember... Watching Verlander school us last night for 8 innings was just the cherry on top...

Agreed. The 2004 Sox won in part because they were liberated after the 19-8 game. Zero pressure. The $200 million 2012 Yankees are an entirely different story. Even down 0-3 without Jeter and Rivera, all of the pressure is still on them to justify their existence.

I'm gonna have to watch Matty Ice pitch from work today for this 1PM Giants game. Giants are going to take at least 2 of these 3 away games!!!

Despite all the media speculation, I somehow don't think so. There has been talk of retaliation by several G Men, but somehow I think that just means advancing to the WS and eliminating the defending champs. Regular season? Fastball to the head. But NLCS? G Men know better than to plunk. I think.

If I were a non Giants and non Cardinals fan and trying to get some sort of excitement out of watching this series that doesn't have as much star power as the ALCS, I can see how that's disappointing.

Amazing. The Yankees went from gutting out a tough Division Series to turning into a Chicken 'N Beer Red Sox-style carnival in all of five days.

I am just hoping that the saga ends with A-Rod's professional wrestling girlfriend hitting him with a chair in response to his public straying.

What a disgrace. Can't believe how well the starters pitched, yet 0 offense. Not what they looked like at all during the regular season.
    Upcoming Shows:
    Kasabian/Bo Ningen: 10/1 @ Metro
Coachella: 4/10-12 @ Empire Polo Fields

    Tigers pitching is why, really.

So enjoyed watching that on the bus ride home, etc. Tense is one thing but, damn, some domination every once in a while is nice too.

Truly pathetic. I'm happy to see it though.
