No kidding. Mariners' fans should be happy they had Ichiro for that long though.

Sure, if you can over look the fact they have almost no pitching and can't win in a ballpark that doesn't favor the hitter. This is an AL West year in the junior circuit. This division has very legitimate shot at putting 3 teams in the post season.

The Yankees don't have any pitching? Also, a pop fly is a home run in that stadium.

It doesn't sound like Gardner will be back this year, and Ichiro's insane contract mercifully ends this season, so I'll definitely take this, .288 OBP notwithstanding.

Hanley Ramirez is batting .246 with 48 RBIs. We'll see if this "re-energizes" him.

Anyone else find it funny that Miami spent so much money this off season and they are all ready breaking it apart?

Miami's tax dollars don't find it funny.

Yes, be very afraid of the guy with a 1.4 WAR the past two seasons. The thing to be afraid of is his glove especially if the Dodgers plan to play him at short until Gordon comes back. It was a good deal for the Dodgers considering they didn't give up much and had the cash to make the deal happen, but let's not get carried away here.

I think they are being unfairly criticized right now, they are dumping salary but they are adding pieces that are major league ready. They didn't have to take on any of Hanley's 15 million and let's see what they do with that money in the off season. I wouldn't be surprised to see them make a run at Josh Hamilton or something crazy.

I see them doing this also, but I also find it hard to believe he is going to leave Texas especially with his background. If he were to leave them I feel like that would be the biggest slap in the face for any team. But then again money does talk and Miami so far has shown then aren't afraid to spend it.

I am preemptively declaring that the future Josh Hamilton contract will be an overblown disaster of Howardian or A-Rodian proportions.

I believe the correct term du jour is "Crawfordian."

Lincecum was 3-0 with a 0.87 ERA in last three starts against the Pads at home. Was.

Crawford is looking like a good investment so far, right Red Sox?

Lol and people (mostly Dodger fans) were trying to say that Pujols was a waste of $$.

Well, see, Dodgers fans can make fun of Angels decisions all we want, considering they seem to want to become an LA team despite the fact that they're behind the Orange Curtain.

I can agree with you there. I'm a huge Angel fan but I fucking hate the name Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

I am just amazed that Orange County folk, who by and large seem to want to disclaim any connection to Los Angeles, would still support the team after that change.

Such a joke. I drive by a billboard featuring Pujols and the Los Angeles Angels frequently, and there's always some sort of tagging in reference to that issue.

I'm not from Orange County so I can't speak for them. Grew up in the Pasadena my whole life, but was always drawn to the Angels because my dad is a huge fan, and bought season tickets a few times.

I just don't get what's wrong with the name Anaheim Angels. I understand wanting to attract a bigger fan base, but Orange County has absolutely nothing to do with LA lol.
