I'm just really weary of outdoor events in London. The few I've been to had terrible crowds and the sound wasn't nearly loud enough. From what I've read on various sites, a lot of Bloc regulars are pretty displeased with this venue change.

An event's crowd being "shit" compared to Glastonbury's crowd, is literally unfathomable to me. (Glastonbury still being one of the worst series of crowd experiences I've been so unlucky to be subjected to).
Boourns, I would be more inclined to do Glade Festival (but it's the same week as Sonar and the lineup is not at all as good).
Do I understand correctly that Squarepusher's set at Sonar is to be more or less the same one he's toured this weekend for Creator's Project? (The LED installation + music from Ufabulum?
If so, FUCK YEAH.
I need to look over the lineup more but so far I'm really excited for some of the obvious stuff: Squarepusher, Nicolas Jaar, John Talabot, Richie Hawtin, Amon Tobin (I still haven't really been able to give ISAM my full attention), Azari & III, LBS, Julio Bashmore...
When does the Off Sonar stuff tend to be announced?
More additions!

Excited for NEW ORDER!!!!
Cornelius, the 2 Bears, and DJ Harvey exciting as well. I have homework to do. Lots of names I don't recognize.
For Off Sonar, they have already said there will be showcases from...Crosstown Rebels Hot Creations Hourglass Music Culprit LA Get Physical Music Desolat Music Group mobilee records BPitch Control Records Berlin and more...
no details yet.
Lilia, do you have a good sense of when the off sonar parties start and end (date wise)? I'm trying to start figuring out how long I will want to be in Barcelona. That one on the 13th looks pretty good.
Started looking at airfare for specific dates, yesterday, it's insanely expensive...
Oooh - DJ Harvey.
You should give his RA Echange Podcast a listen if you haven't already. He's a funny guy. In one segment he talks about learning he wasn't into dudes after getting head from a tranny in a bar toilet. But, "however you like to dangle your wangle" is fine by him.
Looks like last year they went from Wednesday-Monday: http://2011.sonaroff.com/
I know it's super pricey. Adam had to remind me today (cause I wasn't stoked with the announcement this morning) that there are several other huge factors drawing us to Barcelona because dropping $2500+ on flights hurts.
Should be getting more of the lineup this week. I've updated the first post with all the Off Sonar shows I could find.
Heidi, lmk which ones you're considering. Right now the only one I'm committed to is the Hessle Audio one w/Four Tet, Ben UFO, Peverelist, etc... I'm still waiting to see details on the CLR event and the bPitch Control Boat Party.
I'm too overwhelmed to even think about it much yet! But I've started shopping for apartments/hotels, and expect to book my flights soon.
That off-sonar list... holy shit.
And are you kidding me that there is another music festival in Barcelona that weekend?
Here are the ones I'm considering so far.
6/13 Ovum Showcase @ Boulevard Culture Club (11pm-5am) Gregor Tresher, Josh Wink, Max Cooper
6/14 Items & Things meets Get The Curse @ Hotel Z, Barcelona | Magda, Marc Houle, Troy Pierce
6/14 - that other thing
6/14 Heidi's Jackathon @ Barcelona
6/15 Carl Craig 69 Live @ East Ender, Barcelona
6/15 Mobilee & Friends #2 @ Hotel Silken Diagonal - Slam, Pan-Pot, Rodriguez Jr., Ralf Kollmann <--- this is a roof top party
I just bought my plane tickets.
Decided to start the trip off right - seeing Sasha at a small venue here in SF, then going home, getting my luggage and going to the airport for an early morning flight....
There are so many events that look ridiculously good. This weekend I am going to sit down and really hammer out the tentative itinerary. I also want to start buying tickets. HOLY SHIT I am so happy I am doing this. Dimensions was calling my name... as was Bloc and Bestival but I think this will be a blast. Rooftop pool parties, boat parties, beach parties, warehouse parties ALL THE DELICIOUS FOOD.
I *think* that was from last year. I'm a little confused because it's listed for 2012 on that Spanish gigs site.
The Carl Craig one, I think was from last year. At least I found the same event for 6/15/2011. But it's listed for 2012 on that Spanish gigs site. Confusing. I'm going to stop looking at Sonar events for a couple of weeks![]()

I've done little but obsess over this all weekend. That Ovum showcase is going to be awesome. Actually, I'm having trouble wrapping my head around how many great shows will be on each night.
