    Question Coachella Motorcycle friendly?

    Good evening all,

I have an inquiry.. I was planning to ride my KLR650 to Coachella (3/4 the way all on dirt trails) and was wondering
how was the process for other motorcyclists traveling to Coachella. Is it tons better than driving, is it a hassle?

    Thanks for reading.

^ KLR 650 hahahha. Nice Tiger.

Only thing I can say is that you won't be able to bring your bike in the Car Camping area. As far as actually riding there on dirt trails as opposed to driving, that's one of those "If you have to ask ..." questions.

    Thanks for the reply mate,
So it sounds like it should be fairly easy then! I'm staying over at Lake Cahuilla so no worries being in car camping.

I have ridden my bike every year except one. I normally take the big one out for Coachella (Honda Valkyrie). Works out great! In fact, the one year I took my car I swore I would never do so again.

You can lanesplit the whole way in/out. The cops actually wave you around the long line of cars. Keep in mind your scoot is gonna get dusty as hell. Not much you can do about that. One thing I'd recommend bringing is a kickstand pad to put on the ground in the parking lot. The ground is very soft in most spots and you'll sink right in without one.

Also, with the advent of the wristband system, you need to be able to show it quickly before you go into the lot. If you wear gloves and leather (and I know you do as a safe rider), it'll get a bit tricky when you get to the gate. Have your glove peeled back as best you can. Ideally you don't want to stop for even a second with all those damn drunk kids behind you eager to get into the lot. /snerk
