In other news, I've actually been hanging out with that guy the last guy I was seeing basically passed off to me. He's really nice, we like all the same stuff — but can't tell if he's playing it slow because he's being respectful or if he's not into me. We went out on Saturday, went back to his place and watched MST3K and made out on his couch, but he didn't ask for me to stay over and I left on my own accord around 3:30am. Hmph.

Maybe he thinks it's weird I hooked up with his friend/that he and I were set up by said friend? Or maybe that I'm younger than he is? I dunno.

Not really - She's a lawyer and he's just some guy that brings clients in for a commission. She told him it was inappropriate and he tried to tell her it was a cultural thing and he meant no offense and she told him to knock it off. This exchange happened in a US federal Court building by the way - she was standing in a corridor waiting to get into see a US trustee and this guy just came walking around the corner and said "oh helloo, I knew you were here, i coouuldd smelllll you."

A funny note about derogatory names: I always hear white people correct other white people on the use of "Persian" with that saying of "Persian is a rug, not person," and yet every person i know whose is from iran 9and i have several friends who were either born there or are 1st gen US-born and still speak Farsi and everything) always use Persian as an adjective for describing people, food, etc. I don't know where the idea that it's derogatory came from.

Unrelated to the thread, but I have two friends who are "Persian" and call themselves "Persian." So, yeah.
