It's just a shame that OSU didn't remove itself from the meaningless bowl against Florida last year so we could have the Rose Bowl as it should be this year.

My Irish Catholic paternal grandfather -- my Papa -- passed away 27 years ago yesterday. At his funeral, they played the Notre Dame fight song in his honor. He loved his family more than anything in life, but the Fighting Irish came a close second.

Yeah, that's pretty much what this game means to me.

As a USC fan, I can't believe I'm saying this, but GO IRISH! That's how much I hate Nick Saban.

That, and like lots of people I'm really tired of seeing the SEC win the title every year.

I think the SEC is down this year, actually (relatively speaking, of course; they are still the best conference). LSU loses to Clemson. Florida gets blown out by Louisville. South Carolina needed a miracle to get by weak sister Michigan.

And all of that means nothing if Alabama wins it tonight.

Overall I thought this bowl season was kind of boring. I'm going out on a limb and saying out of all the games I've watched, which wasn't any more then 10, the Cincinnati Duke game was my favorite.
