"fIREHOUSE" may likely the lower case "f" just like the lineup poster.

Way too linear in the scheduling on this day right now...some of the better indie critical darling indie acts of the last year and older lower profile acts (St. Vincent/Tuneyards/Destroyer/Buzzcocks/Squeeze) will go on much earlier in the day while some of those bands you've got in the 12-3 slots will get thrown to the wolves in the Gobi or Mojave late to reduce the ridiculous number of conflicts on this day.

I'm betting either Destroyer or Tuneyards is done before 4pm, same with one of Buzzcocks or Squeeze.

Also, 6pm slot on Mainstage always, ALWAYS goes to a lively uptempo act - Franz Ferdiand, Sleater-Kinney, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Broken Social Scene, Death From Above 1979, etc, etc.

There is no way in Hell Fiest will get that slot at 6pm...she's going late on Outdoor. My guess is Noel Gallagher takes 6pm Mainstage slot, followed by Mangum, Bon Iver, Radiohead.

I also see Godspeed going earlier...around 6 or 7 ala Trentmoller last year.

Having Mangum on the mainstage before Bon Iver would be perfect for me. But I for some reason keep thinking that he will be doing Outdoor.

No St. Vincent conflict with The Shins!
I actually have nothing to substantiate this, I would just cry if it happened. But I'm probably going to cry anyways considering all the Saturday conflicts.

Also I second the idea that GROUPLOVE will play later than 1:00... They've got a lot of buzz building (way more than the other early day acts).

Someone has brought it up in another day's thread but just because a band has gotten popular or has been popular for a number of years does not automatically mean they will be a later afternoon or evening act, I like seeing Grouplove right where it's at, free from conflicts.

Edit: What the fuck am I saying they are conflicting with Gary Clark Jr. ARGGGGH fuck Saturday.

When do you think Paul T puts these together? A bit before the fest? Or do you think he has an idea when booking acts?

    A couple things:
    - I have NO idea if fIREHOSE would play the Outdoor like Echo and the Bunnymen, PiL, Caifanes..? But, thought I'd give it a shot. It's definitely not a conflict with The Shins or Bon Iver though.
    - I gave Mangum the "Leonard Cohen treatment" with Kasabian playing the Mojave at sunset, which I think is solid.
    - I put Miike Snow in the Mojave.. because... maybe they'll be in the Mojave? lol
    - I'd say this slot makes more sense for Noel Gallagher than the Main or conflicting with Bon Iver or The Shins (since he's billed so high)
    - Godspeed also has some quiet/silence around them, save for Miike Snow and Noel Gallagher starting on the outdoor at the end of their set. But there's no way they're going to close the Mojave for Godspeed, so this is good in my opinion.
    - I just stuck A$AP and Azealia Banks there! .. I bet Azealia play early in the day. But I didn't know who else to put there. Who is closing the Gobi against Radiohead?
    - And yes, the beginning of the day still needs work. Suggestions?

i really like this, except flylo vs radiohead. would like to see full sets from both.

the whole SBTRKT/Flylo/Radiohead thing is weird. Maybe none of them will conflict. But I think Flying Lotus is a good option to close the Mojave because you need SOMETHING for people who aren't into Radiohead that can still draw a crowd. That's why I had Kasabian there, but I agree that Kasabian shouldn't conflict with Radiohead. I dunno.
And I dicked over Black Lips, having them play during the headliner again. But again, not everyone loves Radiohead, and Black Lips fans LOVE Black Lips.
    - also, I don't think I have enough high-billed acts in the Mojave. I only have Miike and St. Vincent.

Flying Lotus won't be happy with having to miss Radiohead. I'd hate to see Grouplove go on that early in the blazing sun with the kind of energy they promise in their set. I feel like it might actually hurt their set, it reminds me of Gogol Bordello last year. I'd say switch them with Laura Marling but she sounds like she belongs in the Gobi.

Idea: AWOL Nation closing the mojave. Also, I think fIREHOSE will be in the mojave and Miike Snow will be on the outdoor. I agree Flying Lotus will be in the mojave after sunset... but not conflicting with Radiohead or SBTRKT.

I still really think that Miike Snow will close out the Outdoor before Radiohead on the main. Also Kaiser Chiefs and The Buzzcocks won't conflict.

I like the idea of AWOL closing the Mojave. and still like Miike closing the Outdoor. I just wanted to show a different option. But you guys agree that if Noel should conflict with Shins/Bon Iver. Not Miike, right?

Miike Snow screams Outdoor Theatre in my mind. I think they appeal to too wide of a range of audiences to end up anywhere smaller.

Flylo vs. Radiohead sucks, but I can't think of anyone else who makes sense in that Mohave time slot.

I would think that switching Andrew Bird and Feist would make a lot of sense - based on where they are billed, and (I would think) Andrew Bird would draw a larger/more diverse crowd.

Also is the reasoning for David Guetta --> Sebastian Ingrosso (instead of the other way around) that Guetta doesn't conflict with Radiohead?

What was your success ratio last year? Because you guys keep fucking putting Noel Gallagher in time slots that would infuriate me. No, don't have him on the Outdoor right before fucking Radiohead. That doesn't benefit me.

Although I do like that he's no longer apparently booked to conflict with St. Vincent.

Given that if you get one thing wrong, you automatically get two things wrong.. I think it was pretty good overall. Lots of acts on the right stages. and a decent handful on the right stage AND time.

there's really only a few obvious things to know about the set times before they come out.
    - who's playing out the main and outdoor
    - who's in the sahara
    - who's playing early

everything in between is a crap shoot for the most part.

And even though we try to make a realistic schedule, everyone is also trying to make it IDEAL as well. there's never an ideal schedule. if we wanted to make a super-realistic schedule, we'd be predicting way more conflicts.

I think that Miike Snow should have Noel Gallagher's spot but I don't know where Noel Gallagher should go. I think that the spot where Jeff Mangum is right now is perfect.
