Hey guys, remember when Odd Future played the Sahara last year? Or when The Ting-Tings played in 09? Sometimes acts that aren't typical EDM acts end up in the Sahara.
+1 for Amon closing the Sahara
The Sahara was the only option for Odd Future considering the circumstances. You're talking like that tent was the original choice. Odd Future were originally scheduled to perform in the dome.
EDIT* Also, LOL at Amon Tobin closing the Sahara.

I still maintain that it doesn't make sense to put M83 at the same time as Pulp. Nobody would see Pulp and all that effort in both time and money to book a state side Pulp show would be for nothing.

I guess the next logical step is to figure out where Daft Punk fits in to all of this
Friday: Stone Roses, YYY, Modest Muse, Grinderman, Beach House, Japandroids, Foals, Four Tet, Aesop Rock, Alt-J, TNGHT, Seth Troxler, Purity Ring, DJ Harvey, Jamie XX
Saturday: Sigur Ros, New Order, Hot Chip, Grizzly Bear, Descendents, SMD, Spiritualized, The Make-Up, Richie Hawtin, 2 Bears
Sunday: Nick Cave, Wu-Tang, Tame Impala, James Blake, Grimes, the Faint, Dino Jr, Paul Kalkbrenner, Disclosure, Cloud Nothings, Thee oh Sees, Smith Westerns, Kurt Vile
I really doubt that putting M83 against Pulp would result in a small crowd for Pulp. Especially if Pulp is opening for the headliner.
Because everyone was cutting a rug at Plastikman, right?
Amon certainly would be "outside the box" for a Sahara act, but I think we can all agree he makes a lot of sense up against SHM. With SHM being on the main, there really isn't a NEED for a truly dance oriented act to be in the Sahara. This is why people are suggesting Amon. To me, it makes a lot of sense. He could certainly end up a number of other places though.
Sahara or Mojave who gives a shit honestly, can't we just agree they'll be closing a tent?
Wait!!!! plasticman plays techno?

Why wouldn't M83 close the Sahara? Aren't they more EDM oriented than Tobin? Tobin is about as far from mainstream EDM as you could possibly get... I'll say it again, ISAM belongs on a big stage.
Why wouldn't this be a great change of pace for the Sahara??? Most of the normal Sahara spectators will be at the main stage for SHM, which leaves 75% of the audience looking for something else to watch... And this would be a great draw as far away from the main stage as you can get without going back to your campsite.
So why not the Mojave or the Outdoor? M83 is just as big as Phoenix was, except they have a decent light show. Where do you think Amon should be?

If you wanna dance, then go see M83 in the Mojave or SHM on the Main! This shit is Sahara worthy.
I can't get the fucking YouTube clips to work like they used too.

I'd like to see Amon close a BIG stage like the main or outdoor, just for the sheer size of ISAM and to get the shock and awe of it exposed to as many people as possible, which is harder to do if he's in a tent. I know I'll most likely be wrong and end up with a huge conflict of M83/Refused/Tobin all closing their respective stages at the same time, but I hope against hope that I can get to see at least 2 of those artists in their entirety. I saw ISAM in Chicago a few months back and I think this may be the last time that it makes an appearance, and I see M83 as a more lively dance worthy act so why not put them in the Sahara when all the EDM junkies migrate to the main for SHM?
I still think there is a decent chance that Pulp plays to a silent outdoor. GV did shutdown the main for Jarvis in 07 after all.

Just to clarify I mean Pulp playing the Main with no one on the outdoor.
U do realize you'd have to move 2 acts off the outdoor then. Not gonna happen
I think you would only have to move one. I will work on a mock schedule later on.
