I... I remember. I remember the golden age, when the Underground DJs played. Funky basslines, grooves, non-anthemic vocals... you think it's a joke, but that used to be the norm. Or at least part of it. But then... the Rising Popularity Of The Scene happened.
There wasn't any more room. I remember, I was working in a warehouse at the time... we were stocking mellow rhodes stabs, like we'd done for so many years. I heard a knock at the door... and then some goons barged in and just trashed the place. "You stock trance pads from now on," they said. They cleaned us out, and we had to start working for them.
It still haunts me, this new generation... this new scene...
I was chatting with my niece, and she said "This is a nice conversation and all... but where is the drop?"
