Anyone know if you can park at the shadow hills rv lot and shuttle in? that would be closer to where I am staying, or else I would have to park at the Tennis Center

I stayed there last year and they weren't on the original shuttle schedule, but the rv park worked something out and got shuttles to come. Who knows if they will do it again this year but my guess would be that they do.

The Yellow part represents the potential parking area, and it is still much bigger than Lot 16.

2012 map has been updated... No more 13B (whatever that was) and it shows Clinton between the 2 day lots. I'm guessing this is the map you get with your ticket?

Yes, both yellow shaded portions of 2a & 2b are big lots. Last year Companion parking was only 2B and that lot was only at 1/2 capacity. It was one hell of a hike back to lot 10, but luckily hired one of those rikshaws.

Used Lot 16 (corner of Monroe and 52nd) for the past 2 years and it was fast in/out, although a long ass walk to the polo fields.

I have used Lot 16 the past 3 years, and it's easily the fastest in/out (so long as you show up at the right time in the morning...). That said, I'm going to miss that lot... a lot.

Do they normally post the updated map online along with the set times? (april 9th or 10th for weekend one historically) or earlier.. i recall a map last year being up for awhile..

Semi off-topic: Are those bars (Tack Room and The Date Shed) open during the festival? Might fun to walk to if the "shanty town" campsite gets a little overwhelming

That actually sucks for us bicyclists staying on avenue 49 and Monroe. Might just be better off walking, for crying out loud.

Ha, well maybe they listened to us, but didn't want to give us everything. Hopefully our devoted path doesn't follow a major car/shuttle path for very long, and hopefully we can ride on pavement for most of it. At least south people coming from PGA west get a more direct route.

Rough Googlemaps calculation shows it will double the distance from Indian Palms - from our house the old direct route down Monroe and 51st = 1.8mi, last 2 years' almost-down-to-52nd shitshow = 2.7mi (+ 1mi), this year's route almost 4 mi.

But hopefully it will be a safer, more pleasant experience than the last 2 years...

looks like they want the bikes in the bike parking section noted on the vmt map, though, and it doesn't appear you can get to that lot via the pedestrian route.

Not to mention a dedicated bike path is desired to avoid the sandy death gauntlet of drunk humans that we've experienced the last 2 years. I'm hoping the extra distance is overall a better option than that direct ped path.

What's the deal with that lot with the trees to the left of Lot 5? That seems like a much better place to have Tent Camping. What is usually there?
