It'd be awesome if the whole playa looks like those little samples there.

Your camp knows what's up. Nobody eats "lunch" per se. This will be your daily schedule:

Eat some bacon, drink some coffee/coconut water,
    drink a coctail
go out and do some crazy shit,
    drink beers/coctails
come back in late afternoon sit around chat,
    drink beers/coctails,
eat some dinner that somebody hands you,
    drink coctails,
clean up and get dressed for evening,
    drink beers
go out and do some crazy shit
    drink liquor
Come back near dawn and sleep for a few hours.
    Repeat.

    "Lunch" never happens.

that's what i've been hearing... that playa sure does look pretty loose. :/

make it out to fractal nation people, lots of visionary art and workshops/good speakers. 2:00 & E

i would specifically attend Android Jones' digital painting workshop (thurs @10pm) and go listen to Alex and Allyson Grey talk (fri @730pm)
plus, i've got a couple close friends doing talks and would be there no doubt.

Camp Above the Limit is also holding a speaker series with the Greys and some others.

I'm just fucking with zimmy, and those partciular workshops might be cool and even practical, but jesus christ some of those fractal nation/entheon type lectures are mind-numbingly stupid.

Let's see: Spend an hour listening to some dilettante parot some pseudo-scientific integration of unified field theory and spirituality, or perhaps expound on unique conspiracy "facts" about organic produce? or get ripshit with friends? I guarantee I'll wind up smarter doing the latter.

I know there's plenty of people that love doing that shit. Good for them. I'm glad there's camps to collect them and keep them neat and orderly. If only they started thost lectures at dawn instead of playing music until 10am.

    hating is so theraputic.

All these tickets that the multi-credit card winners have been hoarding are coming out of the woodworks now. By the end of this week I'll bet they'll be selling at a discount.

This fucking thing isn't as popular as everyone thought.

This whole journey taking place at the end of the month is going to exceed any expectations I have. Very excited, Jack/Beefy do you both do the full week? In planning on doing that, any tips to throw out there to ensure no zombie walking by Thursday? I figure not going crazy till the end of the week (& becoming familiar with my surrounding also) is the best plan of action.

I'll be there 8/23. Most important tip for virgins is not to overdo it the next day after your first night out. You'll fall into a rhythm, but probably have one early crash night.

Best tip for making it through the whole week in good spirits is to wear comfortable shoes for a while if you're at all uncomfortable in your
heavy boots. You'll be doing a shitload of walking this year when you find out your bike is worthless.
The moment you feel a blister might be forming you band-aid that shit ASAP. Once it hurts it's too late.

i dont eat bacon. meh. i hear its the best thing out there too. damn. my team in my camp is doing mexican on tuesday for dinner. carnitas, quesadillas, chips/salsa, margaritas and for desert...... choco tacos!.

im bummed to hear bikes might be useless. does that mean carrying ice back to camp from center? do people bring wagons? should i wait before putting lights on my bike to instead put them on me? haha. (besides the hokey spokes that now might be pointless).

    you will eat bacon.

your bike might be useful for running to bathroom and perhaps to get ice. A wagon is useful too. Sending an order with someone else that's going is even more useful.

It's the outer playa where your bike will be mostly useless.

you make it 100' in a tire track without getting distracted from chemicals/lights/music/idiot friends/oncoming cars/etc and you win burns mans.

The great camping debate is over. I'll be with the Gypsy Monkey camp @ 730/E. The ladybug tent will be present for those unfortunate souls who got too fried out to find home.

Marinated olives and garlic can be a good vegetarian substitute. Pickles too.
