If your entry is selected to purchase tickets, your credit card will automatically be charged by BURNING MAN for the full amount of the tickets you entered to buy, plus all applicable service and delivery fees. Purchases will be charged automatically between January 23-February 1, 2012. You will NOT receive an additional email asking you to confirm the purchase.

The registration database is being de-duped and scrubbed for scammers and scalpers (with questionable entries being reviewed by humans). Then the drawing will be run, and tickets awarded. As soon as the card is charged and tickets are awarded, an email will be sent out with the good news (and confirmation number). Once the drawing is done and all tickets have been awarded, an email will go out to those who were not successful. All that will happen on or before the first of February."

So ya, they haven't started yet, seems like they're going through all the entries to get rid of scalpers but I'm not sure how they're judging who a scalper is. Hopefully they get rid of people who actually want tickets.

Also the theme has been announced. It's Fertility 2.0 which I think is kinda lame and not original. Ah well.

I put in for the lottery. I have a lot going on in my life, so we will see if I can swing it, but I figured I'd be able to sell it for face to one of my friends or coachella buddies. I am really going to try, though!

Burning Man's Larry Harvey addresses the multitudes at last night's Artumnal Gathering fundraiser for the Black Rock Arts foundation, held at the gorgeous Bently Reserve in San Francisco. He also announced the theme for 2012: Fertility 2.0, presumably the result of much protracted headscratching under that famous Stetson. But once again I think Larry's nailed the zeitgeist of the day: with Planet Earth sagging under the weight of 7 billion humans, indeed we need a new idea of Be Fruitful.

The drawing will take place on Tuesday 31st of January and Wednesday 1st of February.
