FYF Fest 2012

Overall I loved this festival. A little upset that I got in there so late each day but still saw plenty of great acts, the water stations had really short lines, overall the crowds were fun, sound bleed was a bitch but the stages were nearly on top of each other,

Hey, how about less stages, less bands for a quality experience? Except most attendees don't really care about the music and I guess they need the extra dozen or so beer drinkers each 4th tier band brings in.

beer gardens had some really nice spots to watch the stages. The out of date schedules in the guide books were my one problem. They wait until the last minute to release set times and they still have to change them the day of and hand out thousands of incorrect schedules. It didn't ruin my weekend but I spent several to fifteen minutes here and there waiting for a set that I thought was supposed to start or showing up late to another.

I can see how this would be inconvenient to the people who actually care about the music.

David Cross handled the bleed from Spring St masterfully. It started up literally 2 minutes into his set. Without missing a beat he said something along the lines of "I usually do well with Swedish death metal"

Haha, was any one there for the full TYCHO set? I watched the first 20 minutes then ran off to watch another set. I didn't see the bulb blow. Overall Good experience at FYF. It was the first year that everything aligned perfectly so I could attend. Security was a hassle. Having to through out my water bottle when exiting the beer garden felt like a complete trap as they didn't tell you that's what you would have to do when you exit. $2 of arrowhead water went down the drain.

But the line ups were good and I was able to see sooo soo soo many bands. It was awesome. It good mix and variety of musical styles.

So you're going to start crying about them being successful and being able to accomodate 25,000 people? And you're actually going to tell Sean and GV that they should have LESS people attend, so then theres LESS money being made? Also, if its a smaller capacity, the price would go up on everything just to compensate on potential revenue from a larger crowd. You want that to happen right? You wouldve rather paid over $100 for the weekend if there would potentially be 5,000 LESS people at the festival, because you can't wait 5 extra minutes to get another beer, so you come back here and post about it? Go to Pitchfork festival and see how they fit almost 25,000 people in an area thats easily half the size of whats used at the park. Stop fucking crying like a bitch.

Considering the main purpose of the festival now is to sell beer to hipsters so they can brag that they paid $100 to see a hundred bands no one has ever heard of, boosting "indie cred," they need to do whatever it takes to keep those beer lines moving fast, otherwise they might find somewhere else to drink the next labor day weekend.
