My Mourning Jacket just announced their tour dates. They're not coming any further west then CO. Their last announced date is august 26th.

Love to see them extend to September 1st or 2nd in LA.

They're going to be extending this tour to LA. They're not doing FYF.

Sorry, FYF is changing. They're still going to book hard-core/punk acts. But it's changing to "Coachella Jr." / "Coachella lite"

FYF is presenting 'Beach House' at the El Rey. There's more likely to be a mosh-pit at a 'My Mourning Jacket' show, then at a 'Beach House' concert.

I had a great time last year. Kid Dynamite, Explosions, Descendants, OTC. All great!

Refused and The Buzzcocks were such a blast at this last Coachella- they'd both easily fit in at FYF.

They wanted to last year, but looked like too much red tape. Now with 2 days, I would not want to imagine them actually trying to pull this off in the park. With HARD doing 2 days barely a month before, the fields would be ruined pretty badly to begin with.

I do hope there is a day by day breakdown. I have a sinking suspicion one day will be far better than the other.

Also, the idea of seeing some of these bands on concrete/blacktop scares me. Pretty sure I would have died in the Descendents last year if it was hard(er) ground.

Trying to find it, can't remember exactly, but it was something like, "Brunchwavers are people that live in this particular neighborhood of Brooklyn and ride bicycles on Sunday to the flee market, eat brunch together, and listen to so and so shitty bands."

If you have ever been in a large east coast city like Boston where there are many Ivy league schools and the general labor industry in the area includes finance, medical and IT, you are very likely going to come across the "yupster." They're the young people who find a balance between responsibly working a high paying jobs and/or earning a degree from a prestigious school and combining it with a love of Urban Outfitters/American Apparel and predictable generic indie music like Passion Pit, Arcade Fire, Death Cab for Cutie, Modest Mouse and The National.

FYF used to do 2-day fests and the split was pretty even. There always seemed to be a more punk day and a more psych day.

I saw the Beetroots at the top of the steps of City Hall, no noise bleed from other stages at all

Yeah, my ticket stub has the city hall block address on it. And yeah, other fests have done such thing and some even in the same location. Just need the permits and have your shit together (often an FYF issue).

i wouldn't get any hopes up for a line up much earlier than last year, so you're gonna have to wait a month probably. Fest is still 4 months out.
