People just don't care enough to complain about the lineup in general. I think the overall lineup is pretty damn good (except for the EDM - which is severely lacking in quality) but that may be a blessing in disguise.. If I had to give Coachella a grade this year I would give them a "B-".
Here are the gems (in my opinion of course):
Refused (Wow - never saw this one coming)
James (One of the most creative and best sounding bands in the world. They flew completely under the radar here in the states- back in the 90's.) If you like Travis, the Verve, Jesus & Mary Chain - do not miss this band. Magnifico! I hope they play "Wah Wah, Don't Wait too Long, Waltzing Along, Homeboy, Laid, Lost a Friend, Out to Get You. ch.eck out their version of "sit down". I hope coachella gives them the sunset slot time and they play "sit down" just as dusk creeps in. Check them out playing at T in the Park..
Pulp (this is another show I would not miss out on. Jarvis is an amazing front man and this could be one of the last times you get to see them live.)
Jacques Lu Cont - It would be sweet if he did live versions of "Sometimes" and "Jacques Your Body". Could he have something big planned for Coachella? He definitely has the capital to do something huge... and to blow minds.
I still predict that they add a bigger dance / EDM act(s) - especially for Saturday. Kaskade, David Guetta, Sebastian Ingrosso, Martin Solveig... Really? Who let soccer moms dictate who would play in the Sahara this year? Go look at the EDM talent that we've had over the last 10 years and compare them to this years dance debacle.
It's so **** ing lazy for Coachella to have Swedish Fish Mafia playing Friday night and then you get sloppy seconds by having Ingrosso DJ the next night... Come on Chella's - you are better than this.
