I agree that people should stay away from the Sahara, but not because of your stated reason. It's hot, sweaty, too far from the main/outdoor stages and I find 99% of electronica to be boring and better suited as background music while fucking. I also don't dance, so it's not very fun standing there while everyone dances watching a guy at a laptop for 45 minutes.
Stay away from the hot and sweaty tents. Especially those that are far, that walking shit is a serious hazard to your health. AND THERE ARE HEATHENS DANCING THE DEVIL'S DANCE IN THERE. Unless you are fucking, then get your jizz on in the Sahara.
northside groove...southside groove....eastside groove...westside groove
Its funny that people who take offense to the OP believe that they are elitist music gurus.

RIP
Elitism is woefully undervalued. If it weren't for elitism, we wouldn't have Coachella; instead, we'd have "KatyPerry-chella".
If it wasn't what would the difference be between Coachella and (Insert Top-40 Radio Station Here) Summer Jam

Oh, you. You're my quirky friend. The gals at Sunday brunch love the stories I share about you.

Fuck art! Let's dance!!
I think people on the boards aren't critical ENOUGH. Every other thread is "SO excited to see (insert generic indy-brit-synth-pop band)!" While the upper echelon of the lineup is pretty good, I'm not really finding a lot of good discoveries in the lower tiers...most sound pretty generic.
Some people are just fuckin' stupid.
Why are so many people responding to this thread?
If a musician plays his instrument(s), loves his instrument and the rhythms, melodies, harmonies, that the musician comes to understand to make music, then musicians and the ones who evoke our emotions as musicians, also are able to appreciate all music, because a musician can always learn from new sounds. "Music elitist" should be a musician who is able to play the music he is judging. All others are just groupies =) Musicians can see past genres. I might not like playing certain genres, but I sure as hell will learn to play what I can't just yet. YFM?!!??!?!?! (Ya FEEEEL meh)
