Does anyone know if there is specific bicycle parking areas? Like if my lodging was a couple of miles away and I wanted to bicycle over to the festival instead of driving?

One of my friends recently posted this photo on his blog. It seems relevant.
But yeah, I have seen people chain up their bikes to fences and other bikes and random stuff. I'm not sure what the rate of theft is like. I would suggest using a junker.
I would suggest unicycle only.
I wouldn't worry about theft. Too many bikes to steal, too difficult to take them anywhere. And you need a pass to get within a mile of the venue. I brought my bike last year, but I was camping. Rode it around town for errands and fun.

I heard about a couple people having their bikes stolen around the camp site. I would find a gate to lock it to so you at least won't get the drunks accidentally confusing bikes and riding off on yours.
we've had NO problems biking...saves a ton of time leaving. We biked last year and will bike every year.
Here are some pictures of bike's being parked last year:
Way at the end is the entrance.
The only problem I have had is idiots locking their bikes in a way that traps our bikes in, but there's not much you can do about that.
I still support GV creating at least a few official bike lock areas.
SO excited to do this for the first time this year....i imagine we'll be saving at least an hour by cutting out car time
I'm a reasonable man, get off my case.
Yes there is a bike lot this year. Wait for updated map to be released.
The bike lot, I believe, is primarily for people riding a bike to the show. Not for campers to store their bikes necessarily.
I've used a bike the last 2 years and I've never had a problem. Find an empty spot. Lock it up. Go to show. Leave show. Return to spot. Unlock. Ride back to your hotel/campsite/etc.
Rinse.
Repeat.
Parking and locking your bike won't be the problem, it will be navigating your bike through crowded, sandy pedestrian walkways and congested parking lots as GV has yet to address making a bike-only pathway somewhere.

What entrances are best for biking to and locking the bike up?
