I'll have to check my calendar tomorrow. Heather and I are checking out Hangover this Friday if you're around btw. She's also within walking distance.

I'll be in Nashville. Thanks though!

And, to be on the new page:

August 17th-19th? Anyone have a preference? The 17th or 18tg would be a good time to go get beer after we do it, since there's that all you can drink place within walking distance, or we could metro anywhere.

Oh, and no can do on the weekend of the 18th, but obv don't let that stop it from happening.

Zach and Chris will attest to the fact that, even with three of us, there was some great stuff there. I can't wait til mid August when I'm finally able to host.

    And with that:

August 18? Anyone have any opposition to that? Either that or the 17th. If we do the 17th, it should be earlier so we can walk to Hangover and do all-you-can-drink beer for $20.
DUDE that's right! One down. Congrats.

And, yes, you guys did play some fantastic records.

Huh? What are you talking about?
I am a LA native, technically, dude, you need to settle down.
    My post was 100% sarcasm.
The only part that was honest is that I really wish you guys would actually get on with it and have these meetings, because it's a lot of fun, and I know a few of you have GREAT records.
I'd even come if you had one during one of my trips to LA.

18th would work for me. Fools Gold is doing a free show at MacArthur Park in the evening, so perhaps that could be post-Record Club activity since it's right off the Red Line too.

OK, so sounds like we can start to plan that weekend (at some point) as a go. If you're interested, send me a PM with your email address so I can start to get a group together for a focused conversation, and so I can let everyone know my address.

I'm still very open to suggestions for a specific date. I'll be doing Fool's Gold regardless, so it doesn't have to be that night if it doesn't work as well for everyone. Remember: the metro runs til 2 every Friday and Saturday from now on.

So that Secret Cheifs 3 song with Mike Patton on vocals that I played with the comment that Mike Patton sounds like Scott Walker in it well turns out it is actually a cover of "Jackie" from Scott Walker.

I've got 3 people responded for this weekend. Are you guys still available? Would more people be able to make it if we switched to next weekend? I'm down with whatever, I'm pretty free now.

Unfortunately there's a good chance I won't be able to make it, as my parents are coming up for a visit from SD that day - has there been any discussion about what time on Saturday?

Well, you had mentioned that there was the show at MacArthur Park, so i figured we'd do it at least 4 hours prior so we could make that.

It sounds like this weekend is going to be kind of hard to accomplish. Next weekend? The one after? I can tentatively say yes to any of those, but my weekends are all going to be somewhat tied to the fact that my brother's fiancee is going to give birth some time in the next month and I'm visiting them the weekend that happens, so stay tuned.

I'm proposing that we do Sat. August 25 at Noon until ???. I can still run this weekend if anyone wants to drop by for a lax record club. Just post here to let me know.

I mean, I'm totally down for a pre-FYF record club. I live right by the trains so we could just metro over afterwards. Depends on the schedule of acts though.

The 18th is tomorrow, and responses are pretty lackluster here, so we're going to reschedule first open meeting for 8/25. Post in here or PM me if you're interested and able to make it. In PMs, give me your email address and I'll set up a group email so we can get things figured out.

I'm listening to Neil Young - Live Rust and everyone should be here to enjoy it.

Sorry guys, I'm helping a friend get settled into LA this weekend after he suddenly got a job down here so I won't be free at all anymore.

Heidi brought up the possibility of a pre-FYF party. My roommates will be gone, so I'll have the place to myself. We can listen to shit and then hop the train. Thoughts? Sorry for the last minute nature of this, but it's all been pretty last minute on my end.
