Default Los Angeles Record Club (is better than SF record club)

Can't let the Bay Area folk have all the fun.

Maybe we can have an Amoeba trip just to start things off, since I know that's been discussed before. Could hit up the other record stores on other weekends/evenings too.

I dunno -- would anyone be interested? (Looks at the handful of LA people I know who post in the LP purchases thread...)

Definitely. My schedule is amenable to something like this now.

Ha, yes. Several Los Angelinos have mentioned to me they would participate in such a thing down in the southland.

    COOL LET'S GET PLANNING

Beers/food after and/or before? Shopping at Amoeba drunk is simultaneously the best and worst thing ever.

And let's shoot for beginning of February since that gives enough time to save $$ and recover from Coachella expenses?

I should be getting a car soon so I will have a use for CDs. Can't really start collecting vinyl though. Definitely down to go though and meet some boardies.

I don't. But I've got some solid stuff that would be great for this.

I'd love to join in on this too. I don't have a huge record collection but I've got enough to be able to contribute, and I really liked the idea when I saw the SF thread.

    We could do this, too!

Early Feb. works. What days are best? Saturdays/Sundays?

I'm going to start one of these in Atlanta for board members in the Deep South, which means it will primarily involve racism and Waffle House.

In the grander scheme of things, I imagine Saturdays work best.

I wonder if we could convince a bar like El Prado or Cha Cha Lounge to let us do it there if we promise to buy drinks.

I am up for the actual gathering and listening to records part, but not so much the "meet at a record store and buy records together" part

So maybe lets do a shopping trip before we do the actual gathering? Shopping next weekend, gathering in two weeks?

^ How about two weeks and three weeks; that would allow those who get paid on the 31st to have a bit more $$$ to spend.
