Have you ever listened to that album, bmack?

Oh, I'm not knocking at all, but it is VERY Chris.

And you've told me to listen to it before but I never have. I'll be honest: Peter Cetera's inclusion in the group has kept me away.

I totally get you on that. They turned cheesy in the '80s when Cetera became a more prominent member. But their first two albums ('69 and '70 respectively) are very Robert Lamm-heavy, and definitely benefit from being that way.

Thanks for making the trip Jose; that Willie Colon record you brought was fantastic!

Any contribution is a good one; my only regret is that you didn't play anything else.

Chicago is terrible. Even that first album. I'll never stop hating on Chicago.

The rest of that list looks fun as hell, though. Good job, all.

Thanks for hosting Jason, I had a blast. It was nice to meet so many of you at once outside of a music show.

Chris - Just do what I do and bring food or alcohol instead of records. It works for me

Would any of you vinyl junkies like a copy of this on 7? Emma just sent me a boxful. I promised to find them good homes. You can get them off me in April.

I plan on coming to LA February 8-10. I am formally proposing that, if anyone would be willing to host, we do an LA Record Club, focused on bands playing Coachella 2013. I have quite a plethora of records I could bring that would fit that theme and that others probably don't have.

And my birthday is February 12, so birthday record club too.

Edit: The 8th wouldn't work because I'm planning on seeing Enslaved/Royal Thunder/Pallbearer at the Troubadour that night. And everyone should come to that, because it will be the metal show of the year.

That theme is probably too restrictive for most people.

I guess I could bring the Moon & Antarctica
Arcade Fire - Sir Richard Bishop, Bill Orcutt - Spoon - Paul McCartney - Steve Gunn - Beserktown Fest - Slint - Sleep - Swans - Owen Pallett - Neutral Milk Hotel - Chris Thile & Edgar Meyer - Bobby Bradford Quartet - Matana Roberts - Wadada Leo Smith, Anthony Braxton - Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - Songs for Unseen Warhol Films - Ben Frost, Tim Hecker, Pete Swanson - Ryoji Ikeda - Slowdive - A Winged Victory for the Sullen - John Zorn Marathon

Probably. I just counted and I have records from 28 of the acts on the lineup, so I could definitely cover a wide range of stuff.

I'd be up for either the 9th or 10th, and I think the Coachella theme is a good idea.

As for where, I'd be willing to host again if no one else can.

Bleh, if anyone remembers, last time I had a trip to San Diego planned for the same weekend as record club. I postponed it - to the weekend of Feb 9th and 10th.

    I'm out this time.
