I wish they had something like this in New York...

    Record Club
    Date: Varies (Begins June 25)
    Time: Varies
Location: El Prado, 1805 W. Sunset Blvd., Echo Park
Perfect For: Discussing your vinyl collection over drinks
    Website: elpradobar.com

Combining with beer and wine bar El Prado, (who happens to be across the street) Origami Vinyl holds this "music sharing meets alcohol" event every Tuesday. Participants are asked to bring a record to the bar, and in exchange, they are given a free drink. Make sure you clear up a Tuesday on your calendar in advance, only those who sign up are able to attend the event, and slots are opened and closed a week ahead of time.

Yeah those are fun.El Prado has a decent beer and wine list. They did let people in who havent sign up the week in advance and also the time I was there the list was full to get a beer in exchange still.Super small smoking lounge in the back too.

Where did you cut and paste this from and did you think we wouldnt know about it.

Going to a show on the 28th, but either works. I'll just leave early if it's on Sunday.

It'd be great if you (and Heather) can make it, and yes, a post-Record Club visit to Tony's sounds like a fantastic idea - our place is only a mile away from it.

At least in *my* awesome opinion.

We are not actually even free on the 11th now. January is weirdly busy for us, many birthday parties.

Hey you kinky bastards. I'm going to be down this weekend. So far I don't have too much in the way of set plans, but I'd love to get together and do records if someone were so kind as to host. Kind of short notice, I know, but we haven't all been together for awhile and it'd be a good time to catch up with folks, drink some beers and blast good tunes.

We still don't have a record player, but we have a lot of space and can definitely blast good tunes off ipods/iphones from our bose dock if you wanna do it Sunday at our place. You can bring the coat to show Heather at the same time. And Monday is a holiday, so definitely no worries. And maybe we could go to Wurstkuche or Angel City, or wherever as well.
