    Very smart idea.
    Whiskey Sour

    2 oz blended whiskey
    Juice of 1/2 lemon
    1/2 tsp powdered sugar
    1 cherry
    1/2 slice lemon

Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.

So Feb 4th and Feb 11th? Works for me. Post if those dates work for you.

And re: Cha Cha/El Prado...Cha Cha would definitely not be down. They are so "pretentious" (ie: Silver Lake pretentious) about who they let DJ and play music. My roommate and I tried to DJ there, but apparently the guy who is just friends with a bunch of people in the scene (and doesn't do anything but drink/live off mom+dad) is more qualified than us because HE'S COOL AND PEOPLE LIKE HIM.

    Anyway. Yeah.

Feb. 11 I have a paper due so I may not be able to do it. If we did the 12th I could definitely accept that, and it's my birthday too.

Just to be clear, I'm definitely down for the 12th. Can't guarantee I'd be there the whole time and I wouldn't be able to host, but I'm down. Gotta start looking thru the collection to decide what sorta things would be worth bringing.

We should talk to El Prado or maybe Mohawk Bend or someone like that. I know both of those bars have record players and sound systems equipped. Anyone have other ideas for a good social club-y type place to go to?

If we don't have speakers that are good I can bring mine with me on the drive up. Pretty sure I'll be in LA the weekend of the 11th and 12th.

I don't have very many records but I'm down to come and listen to your records and drink. Next time though, because February is really busy for me.

Casey, I just noticed your sig. I also want to pet every dog in the world. At Hardly Strictly Bluegrass I was literally running after dogs in the crowd so that I could squeeze them. It was totally inappropriate.

Do we have any word on whether this will go down on Sunday? Maybe reschedule for next Sunday so we can find an appropriate venue? If it's next week I may be able to host.

We would be great friends. I get weird looks from people who don't have dogs or don't get the obsession, but I want to pet them all...and dog owners get that. It's definitely inappropriate but I can't help it!

    Okay, back to records...

Oh, this works well. Gotta be in SF this weekend with family. (perhaps I can sneak in a quick vinyl hunt.)

If many of y'all are doing Psychic TV, then I'd recommend a gathering before that show.

If this eventually becomes a thing, then I also recommend referring to this as "The Gathering"

I vote for something like bmack's residence for this. More of a relaxed setting where we can sit around as opposed to a busy bar, we can bring beer, etc. Easier on the wallet.
