Lots of oscillating wub in that track. Good things from all genres can be found in his music.

^^ Really digging that. Wasn't sure what to expect when I read about it.
for anyone in London
If you're in London this weekend, want to be in Max's next video?
Animator and director Nick Cobby (Solace) has asked for volunteers to appear in the animated video we're making for Max's remix of Michael Nyman. Participants' facial expressions will be motion-captured at Nick's East London studio and incorporated into the final video as 3D models. Very simple, and filming will only take 10 minutes a person.
However, there's only so many people who'll fit into the studio, so it's first in, first served. Filming is between 3PM and 6PM this Saturday 28 April or Sunday 29th.
*IF YOU CAN MAKE IT, PUT YOUR PREFERRED DAY BELOW AND WE'LL FACEBOOK YOU THE DETAILS*

^^ That sounds pretty cool.
I'm really excited about Max's TWO off sonar appearances coming up in June. Doublemax.![]()
5/25-5/27: MOVEMENT DETROIT
6/6: The Field @ The Independent

And Max has been added to *********, for Sunday, May 20 (per his site).
I don't see any mention of it on his site.
also, his site is atrocious.
It is under the 'news' in his site, and also he posted it on Facebook.
oh I see it now. it's in that embedded twitter feed.
I restate my complaint about the site design.
Another great live set for Dour festival posted on Max Cooper's Soundcloud and features a few new songs.

New track preview, coming out next week:

This track is a reference back to old days when me and Jeet used to be residents at the Firefly club night in Nottingham. We used to do this 6 deck show with all sorts of turntablism and on-the-fly bootlegs and stuff like that, back when people still were interested in what you could do with some turntables and mixers. We had this particular bootleg idea layering up some snare driven tracks, which I then recorded and glitched up - it was a monster!....so I decided eventually that I should try and create something like that myself, and this is the result. It was a lot of fun to work on, and is no doubt the hardest track I've ever made, if you're into my deep melodic stuff then I suggest you don't listen as you might be offended!
Release date is 280612 on Stephan Bodzin's Herzblut label, with the Bside track "Ruptured". My manager was a bit concerned I might offend people with the EP tracks "Fisted" and "Ruptured", but I think the music itself is a bit offensive too so the titles will hopefully be fitting at least. I wanted to call the whole package "Thrust" EP, haha, but that was deemed going too far, so we settled on "Mechanical Concussion" EP, to focus a little more on the industrial aspect. So there you go, turn it up as loud as you can bare and see what side you come down on!
Thank you flea for pointing this out
On 9/22, Max is doing a show at Holocene in Portland, OR
http://www.residentadvisor.net/event.aspx?378021
This is the only US date so far that has been announced other than decibal festival (exact date/schedule to be announced on July 25), but a little birdie says there will be at least 2 other shows in the western half of the country... I know as of right now SF does NOT have a show. Hoping that changes...
awww yeah just got my ticket for that earlier today. If anyone is planning to go, hit me up. Only $10 and last time I saw Martyn he was excellent. I considered going to the Open Studios show because last time I saw Martyn there was a lot of fun but Max isn't billed for that one. Portland it is.
I kind of wish I hadn't already purchased my flights for dB. Guess I'll have to settle for 2 or 3 Max shows only this fall..![]()
Heard this for the first time. I just love how diverse his production is when you compare something like this to Translation One or Inhaleexhale.
We knew that someone was interested in booking one. It didn't work out -- or at least hasn't yet -- the date they were looking at has been booked by another city. I know at least one person is trying but not sure it's going to go anywhere.
Obsession newsletter time!

Looks like the LA & Denver dates are official now :-)
Really interested to hear what night dB has him and what that might mean for any other US shows as he is booked in Portland the weekend before dB and already has bookings in Europe the week after LA/Denver....
Rhythm is a dancer.
I know people are interested in booking a SF show, but the last time I heard, nothing was certain, I'm not counting on it at this point. It seemed like there was some disappointment over not being able to do a weekend booking, because we had him on a Sunday last time, and obviously a Friday or Saturday would have a larger appeal.
If he's doing SF on a Thursday or Sunday around that schedule, I'll likely miss him either way due to my dB -> LA -> Denver plans.
it will all reveal itself shortly 8^)
i hear his Dour festival set was incredible
