You guys must have had better Aussie neighbors than I have had the last two years. Empty beer cans thrown everywhere, urinating wherever they feel, hurling their poor imitation of a football directly onto other people's vehicles, dubstep until 5 AM, etc. etc. The Australian contingent I've seen have been the epitome of the dudebro set in every way possible.

Agreed, we had 10 or so of them on the otherside of our camp last year. Dudes sloppily hit on my girlfriend for about an hour saturday night until we went to sleep, then proceeded to scream obscenities at eachother until 4. I think two of them beat the shit out of eachother.

I would say that the average American will have a tough time understanding anything that comes out of the Yorkie mouth. I can understand the accent for the most part... but once you throw in some crazy slang... I'm pretty hopeless.

You will very rarely hear me stick up for American beer, however if you are in a state that doesn't limit alcohol content in supermarkets etc (eg Colorado can only sell 3.2% or less anywhere other than a liquor store) then they do strong beer well. Even the 'lite' beers are 4% or higher, which is very comparable to carlsberg or becks or whatever as the lite solely refers to calories and not alcohol. Whenever I have ale out here and notice later (or feel later) that it was actually 7.2%, which happens fairly often, I always think they hide that better than in the UK.

I would take UK beer any day of the week, I just felt like sticking up for the strength of american beer. I miss proper ale like bees would miss honey.

So, as the festival is approaching does anyone have any ideas for a meet up?

We are flying over from Manchester, UK and arrive on 14th April into LA. We are staying in the Hollywood/Beverly Hills area. Driving over to the festival on 19th April.

It would be great if someone wants to meet up before the festival in the LA area. We are going to see Miike Snow on Tuesday 17th and might check out Wild Beasts on Wednesday 18th.

Also we would really be up for meeting some people at the festival either on the Thursday night or Friday.

I have seen from many other topics here that this forum is a wealth of kind, accurate and impartial information, so...
I would like to know if many British people usually attend your fine festival?
Ideally I don't want it to be many, I want people to be like "oh my gawd, are you British?"
Then for them to ask me to say stuff in my 'funny accent', like bottle and orange sherbert.

It will be my first time in America let alone to Coachella festival, is it true that American girls love English accents?
I hope so!
