Agreed, we had 10 or so of them on the otherside of our camp last year. Dudes sloppily hit on my girlfriend for about an hour saturday night until we went to sleep, then proceeded to scream obscenities at eachother until 4. I think two of them beat the shit out of eachother.

I've been trying to sign up to these boards for about 48 hours, just to say you absolutely nailed that! Quality.

Really encouraged by this thread. What a vibe! It's gonna be my first Coachella - most people on this board, and this thread in particular have a fucking brilliant attitude!

Just feel like doing the Ric Flair walk, and a "WOOOO!"

You will very rarely hear me stick up for American beer, however if you are in a state that doesn't limit alcohol content in supermarkets etc (eg Colorado can only sell 3.2% or less anywhere other than a liquor store) then they do strong beer well. Even the 'lite' beers are 4% or higher, which is very comparable to carlsberg or becks or whatever as the lite solely refers to calories and not alcohol. Whenever I have ale out here and notice later (or feel later) that it was actually 7.2%, which happens fairly often, I always think they hide that better than in the UK.

I would take UK beer any day of the week, I just felt like sticking up for the strength of american beer. I miss proper ale like bees would miss honey.

although his is my 1st coachella its my 14th trip to LA
my shy awkwardness has always been accepted cos of the love of accents
"i could listen to you talk all night" being a recurring theme
the words Bus, But, Buttie, Rubbish, and No seem to be favourites

as for alcohol i think we shall just have to get our 4loko on

tho i must stick up for US beers
i cannot stand the thickness of uk beers, nor the taste, and whilst im still not in love with the taste im a lot more accepting of the lites... an of course PBR.... anyone had that awesome beed Desperados?? has tequila in it and knocked me for 6 at xmas, busted my back my ribs and my arm and didnt even notice til the morning after

    roll on coachellaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Let's get some of these, pick a well positioned spot (near a bar) and declare it a new colony of the Great British Empire?
Haha, all we need now is for them to sell Bombardier in the beer gardens, so one of us can shout... "NOW LET'S CELEBRATE WITH A PINT OF ME!"

Wow, there really is a shit load coming over it seems. I banded with some shirtless fellow at Two Door Cinema Club, belting the lyrics from the wee back of the tent--good times. Unfortunately I don't camp, so I rarely get a chance to meet people. Noir=introvert. Sad face

Edit: I'm down for some brawlin beer pounding competitions!

We've been for the past 2 years, and not ran in to many fellow Brits. Like they said earlier in the thread A LOT of Aussies! The place is over ran with them!

And for the most part the accent is loved and commented on... or just totally misunderstood! But saying that we are from the Midlands!

So, as the festival is approaching does anyone have any ideas for a meet up?

We are flying over from Manchester, UK and arrive on 14th April into LA. We are staying in the Hollywood/Beverly Hills area. Driving over to the festival on 19th April.

It would be great if someone wants to meet up before the festival in the LA area. We are going to see Miike Snow on Tuesday 17th and might check out Wild Beasts on Wednesday 18th.

Also we would really be up for meeting some people at the festival either on the Thursday night or Friday.

You pop up on all of my threads and you bring your horrible misery everytime...
If I was still attending this year, I'd track you down and give you a piece of my mind/penis! (depending on your gender)

Ideally I don't want it to be many, I want people to be like "oh my gawd, are you British?"
Then for them to ask me to say stuff in my 'funny accent', like bottle and orange sherbert.

It will be my first time in America let alone to Coachella festival, is it true that American girls love English accents?
    I hope so!

Looking forward to all your replies!

As much as I like the Irish accent, you just don't have the sophistication an English accent can have.
American girls will be all "oh wow, you're like... so, Irish!" but then they won't have a clue what you're talking about.
