I had a feeling for months that he was going to be on the bill, and once his tour schedule came out it was pretty much guaranteed. I'm hoping that even though he is on the sixth line Saturday, he somehow manages to get a late afternoon or night time set with the crowd that he deserves. He was fantastic at Club Nokia a few months ago

Any thoughts on whether he will do the full Gambino show format with a little standup, or if he'll wanna keep it strictly music for the festival? I don't know how well standup will translate in the Coachella setting.

I saw him on the camp pre tour in november and it was straight music -- full live band that had a great sound. he played a lot of CAMP plus freaks and geeks, all of the lights, and some other EP tracks

I saw him this last year at FunFunFun Fest in Austin as both Childish Gambino and Dong lov.. Er Donald Glover. Hilarious standup, pretty good hip hop.

I was pretty into Freaks and Geeks when it hit last year, but I agree with the criticisms of Camp which state that his lyrics about being an outcast for not being "hood" enough are trite and outdated. I don't think it's necessarily fair to say that he cribbed his production values from Kanye whole-hog, but the level of influence is fairly transparent. I like his flow, and will certainly be present at his set barring any severe conflicts.

I like the few things I've heard so far (like the videos on this thread). I can understand people not being thrown away, but this definitely isn't bad. I'll be checking him out unless there are any ridiculous conflicts (which is fairly likely).

I tried to like it, but this dude sucks. He's a pretty good comedy writer, and I sort of liked some of the early tracks that was just him rapping over indie rock songs... but I listened to the whole album a couple times, and it's just really, really bad.
