CRACKHEAD GOTYE FAN THINKS HE WILL HEADLINE
5/25-5/27: MOVEMENT DETROIT
6/6: The Field @ The Independent
6/26: Colin Stetson @ The Chapel
Gotye has some real potential I really love some songs but others really bore me. I feel like most agree hes too boring to headline anything at this point in time. His set at coachella put most to sleep.
his stage presence isn't the reason he won't headline.
I don't mind if people hate Gotye, personally I dig what I've heard (Making Mirrors) because it does recall some of the Gabriel/Collins/Sumner trinity. However my friend who thinks Nirvana and Foo Fighters are the epitome of "real music", calls Gotye a "wiener" for not being "rock and roll" and claims the single's use of xylophone makes it akin to music for kindergartners or first graders. OK bro
5/25 Limp Bizkit @ Observatory 6/3 Sting @ SB Bowl 6/8 Ink-n-Iron @ Queen Mary
6/9 Tom Petty @ Fonda 7/12 Black Flag @ Observatory 7/28 Justin Timberlake/Jay-Z @ Rose Bowl
8/3 Americana Festival @ Verizon Wireless 8/28 Black Sabbath @ Verizon Wireless
9/15 Uproar Festival @ Verizon Wireless 9/28 Depeche Mode @ Staples
It doesnt matter how his album sounds.... All that matters is the type of show he put on in Coachella? Was it entertaining or boring?
The End
his stage presence isn't great but i appreciated the drum battlez

The worst thing I've ever seen at Coachella, and that's saying something because I was forced to see a snippet of Childish Gambino by people I was with.
I was surprised, because I found Making Mirrors to be pretty good. Gotye's stage banter was primordial douchery, and he did everything he could to milk the crowd's enthusiasm for his hit single. This was Weekend 1.
You're right there wasn't an exodus after somebody I used to know. I went in having prior listened to his albums and left unimpressed. Reminded me of Animal Collectives awful show last year where I thankfully left to catch a fantastic Empire of the Sun set.
Boring.
lol also I notice your country of origin . I assume you were on the damn rail.

had no clue his single topped the hot 100. apparently it was just unseated by carly rae jepsen.
Gotye remix album coming up. looks like it's going to be pretty good since they aren't remixing "that song" and instead are remixing Eyes Wide Open.

The Cornelius remix is on CoS and the tanlines remix can be heard here.Gotye’s Making Mirrors was one of last year’s best albums, and now one of the album’s best tracks, “Eyes Wide Open”, is getting its own remix EP. We’ve already heard reworkings by Yeasayer and Tanlines, and now he’s revealed Japanese producer Cornelius’ version of the track.
here's the yeasayer remix - I really like it
