gotye is the golden boy of australian music at the moment. he won 6 ARIAS (australian grammys) this year so expect this crowd to be jammed full of aussies.

He's been around for a hot min...and is extremely good. Half of his songs are chilled out and spacey, imo his better tracks. The others are upbeat and a little overly earnest.

As a fellow Aussie & longtime Gotye fan I am stoked to see him on the lineup.
He represents a lot that is great in music - he is humble, talented & independent. I saw him live last month and it was one of the best shows I have ever seen. He has been known to be a little inconsistent live , his worst is still good but his best is brilliant !

I'll probably check him out barring any major conflicts. I've only heard the one song and thought it was pretty good. One of my favorite things about Coachella is finding bands you ordinarily wouldn't give much thought too.

He has said that often he can't take the full 10 piece overseas, he does have a core group of 3-4 who travel with him & play a lot of the material on crazy electronic instruments & gadgets ( as apposed to the more "traditional" instruments the full band use )
When I saw him recently he performed "Thanks For Your Time" with the stripped back crew & it was really something to behold. I am excited either way. He has become more & more polished & the fact this is potentially a huge break into the US market for him means I'm confident he will be on top of his game.

amazing find. chem bro's playing swoon last year on the main stage is one of my fondest memories from the years i have been attending the festival & the addition of gotye makes this mashup fantastic!
