Avicii vs Dre/Snoop...and Justice close out the festival to a silent Coachella, duh.... they will be Sahara closer or main stage after Dre... They wont be doing their large LIVE set up to anything under an 80min set.
    Upcoming Shows:
    Kasabian/Bo Ningen: 10/1 @ Metro
Coachella: 4/10-12 @ Empire Polo Fields

Avicii is way more mainstream than Justice, I would say Avicii is much less likely to conflict with Dre and Snoop. Avicii will get an earlier slot so all the ppl who listen to mainstream radio will get to see him before heading over to the main stage for Dre and Snoop, and Justice can close the Sahara. At this point I think the Sahara closeout will be either Calvin Harris > Avicii >Justice or maybe even Calvin Harris >Avicii > Modeselektor > Justice.

They often have the more mainstream Sahara artists play earlier and the harder electro/techno acts play later... I guess it could go either way but I think Justice closing sahara is much more likely

Avicii sold out a large theatre here in Kansas City. Kansas fucking City.

They may even put him on the main stage.

Justice is third though and the 1 and 3 never conflict. Also your casual Coachella attendee is more likely to be familiar with Justice.

Justice has already closed the festival twice. Now they're billed third. And a whole lot of people are shitting all over their new album. Given all of that, I could more easily see them on the Main just after sunset like Kraftwerk in 08.
The sound/energy of their new album would probably go off better in that setting than the Sahara.
Or, I could be completely and utterly wrong.

I think ATDI> Justice>Dre makes for a better transition, but I could see it going the other way.

Why does everyone think ADTI would be before Justice?

This is what I've been thinking before EITS even ended up on the poster. They are made for Outdoor sunset.

I think Justice will be in the Sahara with Florence on the Main stage with Justice in the Sahara overlapping some of Florence's set.

Agreed. Florence->Justice->ATDI->Snoop is awkward, yes, but it helps to look at the dissimilarity as simply diversity. I imagine Modeselektor, DJ Shadow, Girl Talk will probably be on other stage since the Sahara can only house so many in one day.

Mazzy Star on the Outdoor at sunset is perfect.

EitS played around sunset on the Main stage a few years ago, so I wouldn't be surprised to see them playing the Mojave this time around.

I know Mazzy Star is billed very highly, but I imagine that will go down in a tent due to the quietness and my guesstimation of their popularity (they currently have one non-festival show announced. 2000 capacity venue in London and it's not sold out). I don't care where they play, as long as they don't conflict with Pulp and Cat Power.

I agree they should close the Mojave and end around 12 with Refused closing the outdoor theatre. That way there are no conflicts with other reunion acts or the headliner.

No they didn't...they played the main stage at like 4pm back in 2007. They are pretty popular and pretty high billed...they aren't being stuck in the mojave. They are playing either the main again (at a later time) or the Outdoor in the evening.

Since its Avicii's first time I'm guessing he won't be closing the Sahara but rather the vet Justice duo. Dre v. Justice conflict makes me sad. :[

He'll still draw a bigger crowd than anybody electronic on that lineup outside of SHM. I wouldn't be surprised if he closes the Sahara, in fact I'm hoping for it so I can see Justice and Dre.

M83's new album is enormously popular, to the point where I could see them closing out the Sahara tent while SHM is on the main. I also do not think that Amon Tobin would be in the Sahara -- the argument about whether or not his stage set up can fit in the Mojave is silly. It can.

    I could see the main going Explosions->Arctic Monkeys->Pulp->Black Keys->SHM

Good point about M83's popularity. If they're the next Passion Pit/MGMT/Cut Copy/etc, then the Mojave may not be big enough.

What about M83 on the outdoor around the same time as Crystal Castles or Caifanes?

This is what I assumed would be the most logical place for M83 to play both in part to their popularity and to give some people a viable alternative during part of The Black Keys set.

Yeah. I could see M83 on the outdoor as well. I just do think that there will be something up against SHM that is less straight EDM and more dance-rock a la The Rapture/M83. I don't know. Maybe they'll throw Madness in there and it will be truly an adult dance party

So.. The Rapture closed the Sahara (unexpectedly) against Tiesto, who closed the Main in 2007.
Do you guys think they might do the same thing this year? It would also account for the lack of Sahara acts on Friday (now that sebastiAn apparently moved to Saturday)
They're billed high enough to be playing a night slot, and given Cat Power or Mazzy Star or others are likely to end up in the Mojave, it would make sense that The Rapture might end up playing the Sahara again.

edit: maybe not CLOSE the Sahara again, but at least play it again?

I still have yet to hear a good argument as to why Amon Tobin will not close the Sahara...seems logical to me. That being said I see The Rapture being more likely to close out the Sahara than M83.

My prediction for how Friday evening plays out

    Main Stage
    Swedish House Mafia 11:30-1
    Black Keys 9:40-11
    Pulp 8:10-9:10
    Arctic Monkeys 6:50-7:40

    Outdoor Theatre
    Refused 12-1
    The Rapture 10:40-11:30
    M83 9:20-10:10
    ----------------------------------------
    Explosions in the Sky 7:30-8:20

    Mojave
    Mazzy Star 11:10-12:00
    Cat Power 9:50-10:40
    GIRLS 8:30-9:20
    Frank Ocean 7:10-8:00

    Sahara
    Amon Tobin 12-1
    Afrojack 10:20-11:20
    Madeon 9:10-10:10
    Feed Me 8:10-9:10

So, on the line up page, Sebastian Ingrosso is now listed as playing Sunday... I think we found our Sunday Sahara closer.
