So, I'm not really trying to get into this quite yet. But - here's what I have to say about Friday.
Right now, Friday has as many acts as it did in 2010. It's about 7 acts short of what it was last year.
I'm expecting a handful of adds (particularly in the Sahara). But if there aren't, I don't really see SHM closing the Main.

Of course, I could be totally wrong. Although if I am, it means Friday is going to look scarce compared to what it was last year.
Food for thought.

Clumsy, there are less names because last year Pure Filth artists were on the poster. That being said, there is no way this isn't on the main:

Not only does the production scream main, but The Black Keys don't need to close the night out, Radiohead/Dre probably do. They are second on their day, LCD played main when they were second. I thin it's clearly going to happen.

I count 10 Sahara acts outside of SHM...Afrojack, Amon Tobin, Madeon, Alesso, SebastiAn, Datsik, Breakbot, Feed Me, R3hab, LA Riots. Sadly I don't think we need, or will get, adds for this day, even with SHM on the main. My bet is Afrojack ends and there is a 30 minute break for everybody in the Sahara to move to the main, and Amon Tobin to set up to close against SHM.

In 2008 I was able to contact Madnesses management to find out why they were taken off the line up. Through the conversation it was revealed to me that Madness were supposed to close the Outdoor theatre. When the set times came out Serj Tankian, the band that took Madnesses place on the poster, ended up closing the outdoor. I think they will play the Outdoor for the reason I stated above.

Not really. No Beef (with Aoki) was kind of popular but he doesn't really have anything significant.

2012 is a totally different lineup though. I don't think the stage they were suppose to play in 08 matters at all in 08. I think they will be on the main around 6 pm and Refused will be closing The Outdoor.

I was thinking the same thing. They moved dfa after their sxsw performance to the main stage because of crowd concerns. That's why I'm of the opinion that they won't be closing out the outdoor.

Well it's not. Especially putting them up against Swedish House Mafia. I think it is sort of a slap in the face, to put a big reunion like that opposite something that is going to draw a much bigger crowd. Pulp deserves a big crowd and the best way to guarantee that is to put them on the main stage before the headliner. Plus when was the last time the first three names on the bill conflicted? 2008? and that was because Roger Waters had nearly a 3 hr set and the curfew was still midnight back then.
