Oh nononononono. I always get way to involved with this. I was hoping not to see this tread for a while... thank you for waiting till February though.
Also, Madness will be outdoor.
Im thinking the outdoor will go: Madness->Mazzy Star->Refused (with Madness and Mazzy Star being interchangable)
That would guarantee me being at the outdoor all night but I really feel like Madness will be in The Specials slot from 2010.
Me too. They would be perfect in that slot.
Are we all predicting the same set times both weekends?
The Rolling Stones - International Noise Conference: Los Angeles - Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers - Austra - Colin Stetson - The Pacific Rim Projekt - The National - Goat Rodeo - Hopscotch 2013- GY!BE - Beirut/Vampire Weekend
The more I think about it though, if they are worried about sound bleed during GY!BE, then it's probably not smart to put them in the tent right next to the Sahara.
I'm eagerly awaiting the blanket of "THERE IS NO WAY THIS BAND WONT BE ON THIS STAGE AT THIS TIME BECAUSE OF THESE REASONS (BUT SECRETLY I JUST REALLY REALLY LIKE THE BAND)" type of statements which never pan out.
Don't forget the "they are billed too high" statements. As in, "I believe GY!BE is billed too high for the Gobi."
Also, I didn't notice any sound bleed from the Sahara last year. Even standing outside the Mojave.
you're a brave man doing this again![]()
My handle was Mojavemolester (forgot my password). But that's who I still am at heart and on the polo fields.
Best thread of the year. Always gets me really excited.
So, I'm not really trying to get into this quite yet. But - here's what I have to say about Friday.
Right now, Friday has as many acts as it did in 2010. It's about 7 acts short of what it was last year.
I'm expecting a handful of adds (particularly in the Sahara). But if there aren't, I don't really see SHM closing the Main.
Of course, I could be totally wrong. Although if I am, it means Friday is going to look scarce compared to what it was last year.
Food for thought.
