I heard they might even add a forth weekend since all the tickets sold out in only 3 hours this year.

Maybe a whole month of Coachella!
this is beyond retarded, besides even if this was an option i doubt the city would allow that.

More likely they would do a new festival....probably Great Park, Irvine
Why not relocate the festival to bigger, more accomodationg venue/site?

I'm already out of ideas, bring on the lottery.

What's the place hold?
In theory, they could do like Reading/Leads and have the same lineup play different days on the same weekend.

This was discussed last year. Could be something like Leeds/Reading.

WHAT IF
2013 expanded to three installments, but stuck the extra one during the week between the two weekends? Like:
Coachella A is Thursday - Saturday,
Coachella B is Monday - Wednesday, and
Coachella C is Friday - Sunday?
Bands would still have four days between performances if they wanted to tour nearby, but it wouldn't be that difficult for GV to ask them to stick around eight days for three performances. And by optimizing the five days between the festivals where the infrastructure is just sitting around, GV could save a lot of money.
There are probably a million things wrong with this idea that all of you will scream at me for, but after a three-hour sell-out, I can't see a way AEG won't force Goldenvoice to keep adding to Coachella.

"Well, that's just like, you know... your opinion, man"
Why not just go like Roo, Thursday is a half day, and thats that?
What if they kept it two weekends but made one the clearly "cheesedick DJ" weekend and one the "woo! now we got some dancin' room" weekend? Or would that just blatantly mess with the idea of having a pre-sale and piss people off?
Just trying to get a word in.
Guys I just heard from a trusted source that works for GV that they are in negotiations with the polo grounds to just BUY the grounds and have Coachella year round, every weekend. EVERY. SINGLE. WEEKEND. She says that because of the legal implications including but not limited to this decision's effect on local tourism and sound curfew laws, it might not be until next year that this goes through. I can't wait!

It would NOT be Coachella if not in the Coachella Valley. Moving a festival to Orange County would be lame, the land of Republicans and crappy mini malls, no thanks. GV already had a festival in th OC in the 1990s called This Aeint No Picnic. Keep it at the Empire Polo Grounds, even if for an expanded 3 weekends.
Coachella will not expand to three weekends.
I was at a meeting for community members a few months ago and one of the higher ups in GV told all the people in attendance that this expansion to 2 weekends is the end. His words were something along the lines of "we aren't going to be throwing any more concerts." There was a very real amount of anger among the people who live around the polo fields about the expansion to 2 weekends, and a 3rd weekend would not fly - no matter the money involved
Does StageCoach have any ability to expand?
They cap it at 50k rather than 75k, but only use the main/outdoor stages. Sahara/gobi/mojave are shade or beer tents(I think?)
