I heard they might even add a forth weekend since all the tickets sold out in only 3 hours this year.

Maybe a whole month of Coachella!
this is beyond retarded, besides even if this was an option i doubt the city would allow that.

More likely they would do a new festival....probably Great Park, Irvine

What's the place hold?
In theory, they could do like Reading/Leads and have the same lineup play different days on the same weekend.

This was discussed last year. Could be something like Leeds/Reading.

Concrete festivals are no fun. Grass is the only way to go.

Coachella founder to produce Great Park music festivals
By BRIAN MARTINEZ
THE ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER
IRVINE – Orange County Great Park directors chose Goldenvoice LLC – founder of Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival – to be the park’s exclusive producer and promoter of large-scale and multiday music events.
The five other bidders for the five-year agreement included Live Nation, which is the promoter for Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine, and C3 Presents, which handles Lollapalooza. The winner was determined by a point-system ranking.
Live Nation wanted exclusive rights for all events with a paid attendance over 2,500. Goldenvoice set that threshold at 12,500 people and demonstrated more experience with outdoor events and multiday festivals, Great Park officials said.
Although the final agreement has yet to be finalized, the plan is that Goldenvoice will pay the Great Park a flat fee of $750,000 per year as well as $3 per person for paid attendance between 150,000 and 299,000 per year and $5 per person for paid attendance between 300,000 and 500,000 per year.
Goldenvoice has agreed to produce one to five events per year and to contribute toward mutually beneficial improvements, such as landscaping, according to the Great Park report.
Why not relocate the festival to bigger, more accomodationg venue/site?

It would NOT be Coachella if not in the Coachella Valley. Moving a festival to Orange County would be lame, the land of Republicans and crappy mini malls, no thanks. GV already had a festival in th OC in the 1990s called This Aeint No Picnic. Keep it at the Empire Polo Grounds, even if for an expanded 3 weekends.
Not gonna happen. My thought is back to one weekend.
Coachella -- in orbit.
they could rename it to the FresYES-Fest

WHAT IF
2013 expanded to three installments, but stuck the extra one during the week between the two weekends? Like:
Coachella A is Thursday - Saturday,
Coachella B is Monday - Wednesday, and
Coachella C is Friday - Sunday?
Bands would still have four days between performances if they wanted to tour nearby, but it wouldn't be that difficult for GV to ask them to stick around eight days for three performances. And by optimizing the five days between the festivals where the infrastructure is just sitting around, GV could save a lot of money.
There are probably a million things wrong with this idea that all of you will scream at me for, but after a three-hour sell-out, I can't see a way AEG won't force Goldenvoice to keep adding to Coachella.
