Coachella locals can purchase passes online for the first weekend of Coachella starting at 10 a.m. on April 4th through April 10th, or while supplies last. For the second weekend of Coachella, residents can buy passes starting at 10 a.m. on April 11th through April 17th, or while passes are still available.

Unless the locals are scalping scumbags, this should help bring down the prices...right?

Probably not. I met a local girl there last year and hung out with a her a bunch over weekend 2- according to her, locals are aware of this deal. It's not a new thing.
2nd- when you buy a local wristband, the staff checks your ID (for a local address) and then personally puts it on the purchaser's wrist: so even if you know a local person they can't purchase a ticket for you.

That is, unless they already own one. They can sell the old one and get a new one....

I saw that one of the $600 dinner options (Sat 5:30) is now sold out, so if you are waiting you may want to keep an eye on that.

Thanks for the heads up- I don't think I'll be waiting for Wednesday next week to take that option, lol!

As of this morning, three of the six time slots for the dinner package have sold out.

I'm done waiting, I would rather have my face-value ticket and a horribly overpriced dinner than a horribly overpriced ticket. See you all on Sunday at 7:30. I'm hoping that the food and wine is good. If somebody tries to feed me a hot dog and some Flip-flop, I'm going to flip the table over.
They heard me singing and they told me to STOP.

Hey all! Total coachella noob here who wants to go for the first time. My strategy was to wait until really close to the event and buy my wristband then, thinking that ticket prices would drop. Instead they seem to have gone up! Im debating just getting the $600 legit ticket/unlimited booze thing, though I was hoping to pay $500 tops for my wristband. Should I wait it out, or go for the $600 thing? Any advice would be great. Thanks!

you should always buy from coachella if you have the choice. don't enable scalping.

i could be wrong but i think the free booze thing is only during the dinner, however long that lasts.

Paying $300 extra for unlimited booze (for probably only the duration of the dinner) and one meal is ridiculous...I don't see exactly how much better that is than giving the extra money to a real person instead of GV.

youd actually be buying DIRECTLY from Coachella and getting a good meal and drinks.

how is that NOT better than giving it to a scalper?

Your not supporting scalping. The ticket is guaranteed legit and it's a gourmet dinner . A dinner that would cost you over 200 dollars even if it wasn't at a festival .How is that not better than handing money to a scalper at the same price ?
    Spicy pie is mainstream shit.

It also been confirmed by others who have participated that the farm to table dinner is excellent.

Of course you're supporting scalping if you pay $600 plus whatever fees they might have for a ticket that cost 350 and a meal...

On second thought, knowing that I could be contributing to some asshole stranger's cocaine funds is a lot more satisfying. Scalpers it is.

To be fair, GV cannot match the endorphins accompanying the risk or validity of a 3rd party transaction

Do you guys think it's reasonable to see ticket prices drop to maybe 500-550$? maybe after the shipping window on stubhub closes?

Thanks, I was a bit skeptical - I would have liked to see the menu first, and wine selection....especially since the chefs are all from the LA area and are unfamiliar to me. Glad to hear that it is good.

$225 bucks for a gourmet dinner with a welcome craft cocktail and unlimited beer and wine is not too bad. I can easily rack up a bill like that when I go out.

Getting my ticket at face value is just icing on the cake. Not giving that $225 bucks to a scalper and knowing that my ticket is legit is even better.

Los Angeles is one of the hottest spots in the country right now for food so you can rest assured that our chefs will satisfy.

What time would the "Gourmet" dinner be at? I'm not sure about eating some free-range carrots and getting bloated at 8pm with a bottle of wine.

Cause thats like, a regular Saturday night thing to do.
