Default Documentaries on Coachella 2012 Bands

I really like watching documentaries on bands, it helps me get into them if I know some of their background/story. If anyone knows of any good docs for bands from this year and posts them I'll update this thread with a list.

I just watched the Refused documentary so we'll start with that. It was interesting to watch even as a person who knows nothing about the band, but hard to keep track of who was who since they don't have a name overlay when introducing people like "Name - drummer" I guess it just assumes you're already familiar with everyone in the band.

Refused - Refused Are Fucking Dead
Justice - A Cross the Universe
Britpop bands (Noel Gallagher/Pulp) - Live Forever
Radiohead - Meeting People is Easy
    St. Vincent - Tour Video
The Black Keys - "This is a Concert by the Black Keys"

No clue why man but I love watching documentaries haha. Justice has a tour documentary they filmed and bundled with their live album, it's called A Cross the Universe. I like it, pretty funny/interesting.

Here's a preview for a documentary on Justice, it's titled "A Cross the Universe". It pretty much just documents their tour and their interaction with fans including their crazy ass gun loving French manager. This is what got me really interested in the band, especially after seeing him smash a bottle over some assholes head who was talking shit to him after the show. These guys are pretty badass. You can find the whole thing on YouTube too if you look.

"Thanks to bands such as Oasis, Sleeper, The Verve and Pulp, British pop music has seen a renaissance in popularity rivaling that of the 1980s. But rockumentarians want to know: Was all the attention well-deserved, or was it marketing genius that fanned the flames of fandom? Directed by John Dower, Live Forever features interviews with critics and artists such as Noel and Liam Gallagher, Jarvis Cocker, Louise Wener and more."

There is a great 10 part sort of documentary that shows St. Vincent traveling around the country on a tour. Shows some of the hijinks she gets into in each city and some live performance material. It's where the now infamous video of her professing her love to the camera man came from. despite these having so few views.

    http://read.mtvhive.com/2012/01/10/b...s-documentary/ <- watch it here

Airing on MTV and Palladia this week is Hive’s documentary, This is a Concert by the Black Keys, where we captured the duo before their El Camino release concert at New York’s Webster Hall last December. Yesterday we teased you with a few bonus interview clips, and now you can get a look at the entire thing below, where Dan and Patrick rip through soon-to-be classics like “Lonely Boy” and “Gold on the Ceiling” and give insight into the creative process behind their acclaimed seventh studio album. You’ll also get a glimpse of some candid moments with the two in the studio with their producer Brian Burton, aka Danger Mouse.

This is a Concert by the Black Keys airs on MTV this Thursday, January 12 at 4am EST, and on Friday, January 13 on MTV2 at 8am EST and Palladia at 9pm EST. ( its still being replayed on palladia )

I love Refused, but that docuentary is pretty lackluster. Lots of nice shots of scenery I guess.

Inspiring indie doc about lead singer of Squeeze. Low budget, but lots of heart. Glenn's acoustic version of 'Voodoo Chile' is insane. For those of you who play music, you'll dig this doc since you can relate to his love of music.
