So shy that he walked out and pulled his hood off, started moving towards the front of the stage. He must be overcoming his insecurities.

I'm not saying he was about to rap, I'm saying that Steve gave him his moment then deftly shifted the focus back onto music. I agree kid looked a little unsure of himself. I don't listen to Odd Future so I have no idea, but does Earl even have music out? Or is he famous for being the guy that hasn't been around?

One of my favorite sets of the weekend (2nd) and I am curious if his sets were the same both weekends. I have been waiting for the recordings to surface from weekend 2, that set was INSANE! Did not stop dancing for one second. 2010 was good but I was more impressed with this set.

I was peaking hard during his weekend 2 set which obviously enhanced my experience/enjoyment. Also, it might have been my state of mind at the time but, I don't remember him randomly stopping the music to give shout outs and talk to the crowd which I noticed a lot of while watching the weekend 1 video. On a final note, I mentioned earlier in this thread that I had never been able to get into his albums, however today while working out I put on Los Angeles and I was finally able to get into it and groove. Seeing him live definitely gave me a newfound appreciation for his previous work.

In response to his sets being slightly different I know for a fact that he didn't play 4th chamber weekend 2, if he had I would have shat myself

Hands on the Wheel - Schoolboy Q, sped-up-remix was definitely one of the highlights of this set. Totally unexpected and amazing.

R u shitting me? Earl seemed/is timid as fuck, it looked like he didnt even want the spotlight. FlyLo had to do a couple of shout outs and someone had to literally shoved him onstage into the spotlight before that beat dropped. Earl doesnt like all the attention

Really fucking stupid question I'm going to ask now but: why was the crowd in the front of the Gobi tent elevated/higher than the rest of the crowd?

uh, yeah. Listen to EARL. You'd probably like it, actually. It might help to explain why people go so nuts over him.

But can we talk about Until The Quiet Comes? Daddy Kev just finished mastering it. Stephen announced at Coachella that its release is likely set for sometime in September. The new tracks I heard definitely sounded more accessible than Cosmogramma (which is my personal favorite), but I still enjoyed the new material.

I've really enjoyed the tracks I've heard so far. Hopefully the September release happens. Sounds like they're on track if Kev already has it mastered.

4th chamber wasn't played in his weekend 2 set.

Hearing 4th Chamber on the Coachella speakers was dope as hell.
Hoping for somebody from Wu to perform at Coachella soon (wouldn't mind Ghost again).

Anyway this set was awesome. Definitely in my top 3 for the weekend.

yeah I was trying to figure this out too, but to no avail. it sounds really john williams-y, and my first thought was Star Wars... but now I'm thinking its some slightly more obscure John Williams.. but really I have no idea.

It was pretty much the same. He didn't play Yonkers though. He had a few new songs and a few classics. He fucking brought it though.

The sound for the first one isn't working when I watch on youtube but it does when it's embedded.

Nice video, Gangwolf. I like that he's using some J Dilla in his set! His mixing is pretty good here. Personally, I was a bit disappointed in his Coachella set (weekend 1). I don't know. I was expecting more from Cosmogramma and the music wasn't flowing that well. I would like to see him mix at a club, I could feel his personality and style a little more there. A 50 minute set seems too short/compact to me.

How long do his sets typically run? Couldn't help but be a little jealous of his 2:00-3:30am, 90 min slot at Roo. The fact that he's the last act of the night means he can play until he feels like quitting too.

yeah, except that he started 20 mintues late end finished 5 minutes early. barely an hour at bonnaroo. it was infuriating cause last year pretty lights (who i dont even like that much) got to play til almost 6am without any problem, but Steve started the set off this year saying "they didn't give me very much time" and right then i was like fuuuuck... he wouldn't kid about this.

don't understand it. that was the one time in history where he could crank out a five hour mindfuck of a set for a massive crowd, and Bonnaroo didn't let him, instead allowing Umphrey's McGee to play their horseshit music til seven in the morning for all the bumpkins in attendance. i was so pissed (and still am).

all that being said his Coachella set was way better, i swear to god that shit felt like it lasted about 45 seconds tops. i was in a trance
