I saw the Kaiser Chiefs some years back, and they put on an amazing performace. They have been off the radar for a while, but I am sure they will be quite good at Coachella. Gotta give a shout out to any awesome band from the UK.

Agreed, I will watch them.
surprised they are so low billed. if only they had one single hit from the 90's they could be on the second line like Mazzy Star.

They're pretty big over here but personally not much of a fan. Saw them over christmas as they headlined a show with some other bands I really wanted to see and I have to admit they put on a good show live. They are good at what they do, rowdy indie/rock I suppose. Be interesting to see where they end up being so low billed but I guess they are bigger in the UK and their new album didn't exactly take the world by storm (though the way it was sold went someway to doing so!)
they were fun last time they played, def. get the crowd going.
I'd love to see them if they were on Friday or Sunday, but currently they are my #13 band on the Over-crowded Saturday. I doubt there won't be a conflict pulling me to another stage.
just saw them at a sxsw free day show, played 2 new tracks, i got some video ill upload tomorrow morning.
I was obsessed with these guys back in 04-07, Haven't really followed them as recently, and only luke warm on their newest album. But they are awesome live. Super high energy. I know they played the outdoor midday in 07, I wonder will they rank for main this time or maybe Mojave?
I'll probably check them out at least one of the weekends.... for old times sake. lol
2005, 2007, 2011, 2012 W1, 2012 W2, and now 2013 W1 & 2013 W2!!!
Kaiser Chiefs - SXSW 2012 - I predict a riot @ FILTER Magazine's Showdown at Cedar Street
The video was made by my girlfriend who is only 5'2 so sorry about that
(i know there is a sx video area but here it is in here..)
I didn't get any video of new tracks (was just gf on her iphone) but they played two new cuts, new stuff sounded more 80s/synth-y but was good, they played about 30 minutes, the lead singer came into the crowd on the shoulders of some big guy in the front, slid down the rail after chugging a beer, was a good show..

I'm the guy wearing blue shirt/red writing, sun glasses hooked around collar right behind lead singer!
bye bye important band member (the drummer)
Via twitter: We can confirm that Nick has decided not to be in the band any more and that our show at Reading Festival in August was his last as a member of Kaiser Chiefs. Nick tweeted earlier, “I can confirm I have left Kaiser Chiefs after 15 spectacular years. I'm moving on. I wish the band the very best."
