So happy that they killed it. Right place at the right time.
    Whiskey Sour

    2 oz blended whiskey
    Juice of 1/2 lemon
    1/2 tsp powdered sugar
    1 cherry
    1/2 slice lemon

Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.

Pete Shelley is the same age as I am and is queer, too. Damn, he has so much more energy than I do! I loved his pink Buzzcocks shirt.

You're hot, uncomfortable, overwhelmed by the 106-degree temperature and don't know what to do. The good news? Buzzcocks guitarist Steve Diggle empathizes with you. As a veteran of the punk rock circuit and festival scene, Diggle knows a thing or two about surviving in the elements. Here are the five ways to defeat the heat like a punk rocker.

    5. Drink champagne! "There's nothing quite like champagne to get you through the day faster. It will take you to another universe and goes down smoother than a couple of pints. A few glasses of champagne will get you going and the heat will be the last thing on your mind."

    4. Smoke cigarettes! "When you're having a smoke, in our experiences, it will keep your mind off being dehydrated. Cigarettes and champagne provide the rocket fuel to get you going."

    3. Use mind over matter: "When we're on-stage, the heat is the last thing on our mind. You can't stand there thinking about it (the heat). Punk rock is about attitude and there's a way to find the heat spiritually without it bothering you. By not thinking about it, you're kicking its ass without even knowing it. Just embrace it."

    2. Get naked: "If you're hot, there's no better way to say 'fuck it' than whipping off your tops and knickers. Wave them around; not giving a shit is the way to go."

    1. Drink MORE champagne: "Champagne is the best because it gets you going faster. Margaritas are good as well. Both will get you through to the next day without ever remembering how hot it was when you were drinking. Don't worry about getting dehydrated; it's going to happen one way or another. You might as well have fun."

^hahaha, yes! I was very, very impressed by Buzzcocks last weekend. So glad I got to see them.

The only part of their set that I found completely annoying was their leather jacketed guitar tech. He kept scowling and storming onstage to pop beach balls. Then when Steve dropped his guitar and walked off to a wall of feedback to close the set, Leather Man ran out and turned his monitor off. Really? Nothing says rebellion like turning the music down. Do you not enjoy having fun? We paid $300 + travel expenses, you got a free ride and were being paid to literally do nothing but scowl and look punk while holding a guitar. Don't act more important than you are, pal, you're just a glorified guitar stand.

So glad you raved about them Tom. I made sure to be in the tent for their whole set, and they were just as great as you led me to believe. That closing string of hits was just mind blowing, and hot damn Steve Diggle is entertaining live.

Do you have a setlist? I haven't seen one yet. Wondering if they had that stretch of obscurities in the 2nd quarter or so of their set.

I wish I knew it. I recognized songs throughout the set. They did Why Can't I Touch it a little more than a quarter of the way thru.

Dammit, that's my favorite (they didn't play that W1), but we DID get Homosapian and Telephone Operator. Did you get those W2?

Steve Diggle has his priorities right. I feel like a glass of champagne now, or maybe just a swig out of the bottle.

These songs were unknown to me until I heard them last weekend and downloaded them this weekend. Have't really followed Shelley's solo career.

Yeah, I would have to check, but I don't feel like we got the solo stuff or obscurities.

    Devo comes in 3rd.

I don't know if I can choose between Buzzcocks and X.

This would be my answer as well. A Buzzcocks/X conflict would be unforgivable!

    I'll say it: Buzzcocks>X>Devo
    Whiskey Sour

    2 oz blended whiskey
    Juice of 1/2 lemon
    1/2 tsp powdered sugar
    1 cherry
    1/2 slice lemon

Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.

This is true. I would give a slight edge to the Buzzcoocks, but I was right at the rail. I was near the sound booth for X.
Youth, you son of a bitch, where did you go?

Anyone have videos of the crowd from Weekend 2? I tried to get record some but it was too intense and couldn't get my iPhone out.

Know i am raising my kids right (musically) when my 17 yr. old son puts this set in his top 5 for the weekend.

Definitely different setlist, TomAZ. The Pete Shelley solo medley was absent week 2.

Best drummer of the weekend nominee.

Met a fun punk pro photographer girl in the airport on the way out, and when I saw her again at PSP she had the Buzzcocks set list. I overheated just watching Pete Shelley.

I still haven't found a weekend 2 setlist on the interwebz.

I listened to the weekend 1 recording the other day while I was on the treadmill and I was like, damn, this really was fucking great. And the songs I didn't know all sounded pretty good too.
