I'll be at Gary Clark Jr. anyway, but i have a friend that's bitching and wants to go to see them so i wanna give him a heads up before he leaves one of the best acts of the opening day for one of the worst acts of the opening day

Watched the live feed....wasn't impressed unfortunately ... During 'Deadbeat Summer' it sounded like he was singing in a deep tranny voice.

Beginning was very bad. Middle/end he became tolerable. I wanted to see Clark Jr as well, but his set looked a little bland compared to Grouplove on the next channel, whom I will now inexplicably be seeing thanks for the live streams. Thats a damn good live show.

I saw a bit of theirs while watching gary clark and thought they were pretty lively, but theres no way i'm missing jimmy cliff and tim armstrong for that. And Gary Clark isn't for everyone, but god damn do i love that sexy ass blues guitar

they sounded pretty good from the food area between the outdoor and gobi... but i didn't stick around to watch.

The guitar is very sexy, but Im not interested in a set where the best song is a coverlol. 3rd stone was grand.

they sucked. it was just really really really really boring. couldn't tell if the wind was fucking up with their sound or what, but it just sounded like noise. i went over and saw the end of sebastiAn which was amazing and the sahara tent was super fucking packed which was surprising

Neon Indian were actually really good. If you like the albums you're going to like the set. I was also really close so that might have made a difference

I heard the live stream didn't have the vocal effects that were happening live so could explain why he sounded so weird.

This. It's unfortunate that their set was at the peak of the high winds. They also needed to turn up the volume on Alan's vocals.. I could barely hear him.

As a fan of the band, I really enjoyed the set. I'd describe them as psychedelic synth rock, much more danceable live than on the albums, which are fairly chill. The wind/rain and looming clouds made it even more dramatic, especially during the synth freakout parts. The purple-haired girl keyboardist was mad awesome too, though when they said she was going to do a slap-bass solo I guess I got really high expectations, haha. "Polish Girl" was my favorite song they played.

Yeah the first half of the set was boring and the sound sucked. The crowd for this set was also particularly annoying... I was by the sound board and left mid set. I went over and caught the end of Gary Clark Jr. That shit sounded pretty fucking good! And it was warmer in the tent!

Started off little boring, but it picked up tempo. It was cold, grey, and light out. So people (including NI) wasnt really feeling it. I really loved it though. GV give them a better slot next year! @ night plz

Oh HELL the fuck no i'm not. He has terrible taste in music. Wants to miss Pulp for M. Ward and Jimmy Cliff for Grouplove. I'm just making it so when he goes and it sucks balls, i can double the i told you so because I have this thread. I haven't heard a single bad thing about Gary Clark from anyone who went, and plenty bad about neon indians
