That was a great set though, everyone up front was singing along and having a great time. I'm curious about how far back the crowd went though.
For sub-headlining slots they rarely include Bar Italia, much as I want them to. Surprised for no Something Changed personally

I never thought I'd get to see Pulp live, they were who I wanted to make sure I saw of any band this weekend!

Loved this set. One of my favorites of the weekend. He's a lot of fun to watch live and they played the songs I wanted them to.

My favorite set of the weekend. And the stream is awful, the sound was amazing up front. That stream is almost painful to listen to.

Also, there were some problems during set up that made the beginning late and weird. I think the crowd was just confused at the beginning and wanting them to start all ready.

It was the recording. The webcast videos always suck. Sounded great in the crowd
    Edit: yup, agree with tharris

I came into this set as a casual fan and refrained from spoiling their performance by watching any of their recent live performances, since I heard they were so good. Fuck THEY WERE SO GOOD! Definitely my fav performance from Friday and one of the greatest shows I've ever seen period. I feel like after that they've become one of my favorite bands of all-time. And I'm so hyped on my "Common People Cafe" shirt!

SOOO FUCKING GOOD. Got excited for them over the past couple of months and completely exceeded my expectations. I came there after Madness ended so I was a little ways back to the right and the crowd was kind of shitty. Some people were dancing but I had the loudest and rudest Spaniards behind me that wouldn't shut the fuck up, I even asked them to politely and the guy was a little offended by it

Damn those Spaniards! I was about 40 ft from the rail to the right. My friend and I made sure we got close. We're both short, so a lot of people were cutting in front of us, but polite about it. There was a Portuguese guy that kept come walking in front of us and then back. He had apologized in the beginning. But he kept doing it. My friend then started panicking. She started confronting people that were cutting in front of her, saying they were taking advantage of her being only 4' 10". These tall guys in back of us said they would protect her space. Then she bitched about hating large crowds ( We've been friends since '05, I never knew this!). I almost left my prime real estate for Pulp because of her!!

I was going to escort her out, but she told me to stay. I wasn't going to argue, this was my must see for Friday! So glad I stayed!! (Her fear of crowds became an issue for the rest of the weekend).

I was probably one of the people dancing around you. Going from Madness to Pulp was just wonderful!

Pretty sure that intro is in addition to their set time (an hour), and not a part of it, which is why the stream rip is 68 minutes. At Primavera, the intro was done via laser and started a half hour before showtime.

I was by the handicap thing for Pulp. It was a really good vantage point. Definitely one of my favorite sets of the whole weekend - maybe just under Radiohead if not as awesome.

I saw a lot of good shit on Friday, but it wasn't until PULP, that it really clicked in..... THIS IS COACHELLA BITCHES! Maybe it was the weather, but the second Javis took the stage I was bouncing around like crazy! Such a great set. And I could listen to Jarvis Cocker talk about anything and everything, forever.

I've only been into them since the lineup came out, but they were my most anticipated. Had high expectations and they were exceeded. So fucking good. Jarvis is amazing and the band sounded fantastic. Everything was perfect, especially the rain during Common People. By far my favorite of the weekend. Can't wait to see a full set on thursday.

    Same.

I remember being so excited to see them, just standing and waiting for them to start, I couldn't remember the last band I had been that excited for.
We're here to play some Mississippi Delta Blues. We're in a horrible depression, and I gotta admit - we're starting to like it.

Not yet but they played a song off "It" which they have never done before.
Over 2 full hours of pulp.

It wasn't My Lighthouse was it? (They did play that at their gig at RAH a couple weeks ago). I was at both nights of their Radio City shows last week. They sounded absolutely amazing and Jarvis's voice was in top shape. It was clearly a bit strained during Coachella though...he really couldn't hit those high notes like he usually does. Not sure what happened to his voice in that 2 day gap. Also the sound in general on the webcast was crap, all the instruments and crowd noise were turned way down, but from the response on here it looks like they were great in person.

EDIT: Holy fuck they played O.U. (Gone, Gone), Acrylic Afternoons, Glory Days, and My Lighthouse. You all lucked out. Question...how were Jarvis's shrieks during Acrylic Afternoons?

Being where I was I think they sounded great but it's not the best place to be for sound clarity.

That was really one of the best live shows I've seen.

And the crowd was actually awesome... dancing the whole time, singing along a lot (but not too loudly or an in annoying way), everyone just seemed so overjoyed to be there. I can't stop thinking about it.

Also, I never quite got how Jarvis was regarded as being such a sexy front man, until last night. I mean, I've seen him on his solo tour, but that just isn't the same.

He sounded great, too, his voice held out much better than I thought it would. (Agree it sounded a little strained at Coachella, at least from what I could tell from the web cast).

Holy shit! San Francisco you got an awesome setlist! Glad they're playing more His n Hers tunes, that way my one and only complaint with the Radio City shows.
