Glad to get Beirut back for 2012. I didnt see them on the last tour. So this is a nice gift.

A friend of mine saw Beiret at the Greek Theatre and complained he no longer had a string section.
i quite enjoyed the set at the greek, but i haven't seen zack with a string section so i can't compare
I have missed them twice at other festivals. I don't plan on missing them this year. Really hoping they get the sunset slot on the outdoor.
Coachella 2013:
Blur • YYYs • Modest Mouse • Lou Reed • Jurassic 5 • How to Destroy Angels • Beach House • Metric • Local Natives • Of Monsters & Men • Divine Fits • FOALS • Youth Lagoon
Phoenix • xx • Postal Service • Hot Chip • Grizzly Bear • Franz Ferdinand • Two Door Cinema Club • Yeasayer • Violent Femmes • SMD • Portugal the Man • 2 Bears
Vampire Weekend • Nick Cave • Wu-Tang Clan • Pretty Lights • Eric Prydz • Tame Impala • Lumineers • Tanlines • Thee Oh Sees • Robert DeLong
I still hope Beiret brtings back their old string section, maybe borrows some musicians from a local high school band.
I love Beirut but was severely underwhelmed by the Greek show. Hoping to give them another chance at Coachella.
The Rolling Stones - International Noise Conference: Los Angeles - Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers - Austra - Colin Stetson - The Pacific Rim Projekt - The National - Goat Rodeo - Hopscotch 2013- GY!BE - Beirut/Vampire Weekend
That's exactly how I felt about the Greek performance.

The Greek performance was, what I would call, Comfortable. Never bombastic or over the top, but it never felt like he didn't care or was checked out. It's true that the band has been streamlined which isn't for the better, but maybe he will bring something big for Coachllea. But still, even in a casual mode, Beirut is better than 90% of the other acts on this bill.
I love The Rip Tide. I saw Beirut at Outside Lands and it was definitely beautiful, but we were way in the back on the hill and he/they didn't play much from that album. It had just come out that week and it has since grown to become one of my favorite albums of the last six months or so.
I'm thinking and hoping that their set at Coachella will draw heavily from The Rip Tide. Add Nantes and Postcards From Italy and that'd be a perfect set for me.
I'm guessing the Outdoor. They played opposite Morrissey in 09 - round 8-9 if I remember right.
Didn't they play during the day that year? I know I saw them but I also watched Leonard Cohen which opposed Morrissey.
Anyway.
Out of the 3 fest appearances I've seen it translated the best in the Mojave '09. Keep them in the tent!
So stoked about this. Their 09 show was one of my all-time favorites
They are phenomenal live! I saw them at the Greek a couple of months ago. Soooo good. I am excited!
I'd do suprefan.
I may get flamed for this, but I always liked how this song sampled 'Scenic World:'
Missed them at Outsidelands this year. Won't make that mistake again at Coachella!
They were fantastic in Portland. Glad I decided against the Greek.

I saw them last in Portugal a few years ago, so good!
They were one of my favorites in 2009
Also missed him in 09 due to the Morrissey clash.
Dig him/them but not a massive fan so I'd be happy to just hear Postcards
There isn't enough discussion about these guys. Incredibly excited about this set. I have never seen them live and I have heard nothing but good things.
I saw them at the Crystal Ballroom in Portland over the summer and it was absolutely fantastic.
Can't wait to see them at Coachella/Sasquatch.
