I really think you guys are stressing too much. It's gonna work out
Hopefully it will, but pretty much everybody I want to see saturday should play sunset or later. Radiohead, Godspeed, Mangum, FlyLo, Bon Iver. I'm assuming I'm going to miss at least one of them.
Yeah, I hope Paul T works some magic here.
I agree. Hearing "Storm" on the Main would be powerful.

I say Godspeed gets Tiesto's spot (lololol) with Radiohead playing before them and no one else playing the outdoor theater. That would make me so happy.
Bon Iver will be on the main stage. Pretty obvious.

I don't understand the logic behind people thinking Radiohead won't finish the mainstage at the usual time of 1 AM. Look at the last 2 years of an EDM act closing the main after the headliner. Muse then Tiesto. Kings of Leon then The Chemical Brothers. Talking strictly popularity here; Radiohead is far more popular than Muse or KoL. And Tiesto and the Chems are far more popular than Guetta. Why would a less popular EDM act close out the mainstage after one of the most popular bands in the last 15 years??
Anyway, I digress from the thread.
I've been a big fan of Godspeed for more than a decade now and it was an absolute delight to see them play 2 nights in SF last year. Those were some of the most special performances I've ever seen. I will be at their show at Coachella. However, I am not expecting the show to even come close to those past experiences. No matter how the set times are arranged or sound bleeding is attempted to be resolved, there are simply too many inherent negative factors of a festival that will hinder this performance. Don't get me wrong, it will be incredible. Much like Fever Ray was incredible in '10. And still, the enjoyment of some bands is better in a festival setting, some worse. I'm worried the set may feel rushed, or simply incomplete.
Iron Maiden, Boards of Canada and Underworld for 2013
So what is going to be different, less time spent on the ambient noises?
I think Godspeed will more or less get what they want in terms of logistics.

I would be really interesting to hear/read the convo that went on with GV and Godspeed when they booked them for Coachella.
"Alright so we're gonna pay you tons of money, but you can't play any long epic drone solos and only 2 songs plz. Thanks for doing it, you will sure help us attract the whole underground post-rock I'm too fucking cool for Coachella crowd."
^_^
That is probably the exact opposite of how the booking agreement came to be.
5/25-5/27: MOVEMENT DETROIT

This appears to be a thread in which many people are speaking from a place of pre-existing familiarity with this live set. Through the context, it sounds unique. Would someone take the time to generally explain what to expect from their live show, keeping in mind that I am aware YouTube exists
For your reference, my review of their Chicago show http://www.urchicago.com/reviews/201...ror-metro.html
