Nice!
Nice!
Friday: Sparks, Jello Biafra ..., FOALS, Beach House, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, blur
Saturday: Wild Nothing, Portugal. The Man, Violent Femmes, Franz Ferdinand, Yeasayer, Descendents, Moby, Grizzly Bear, Hot Chip, It's New Order, bitch!
Sunday: Cloud Nothings, Tanlines, OMD, Paul Oakenfold, Grimes, La Roux, Eric Prydz, Nick Cave
never heard of them, but the video on the main page is catchy enough. I'll catch them if there's nothing else more tempting.
From The Guardian "New band of the day" series:
Two French boys who started out as session musicians for Air and Phoenix, they got their break when they hooked up with the famous (at least in "French touch" terms) Philippe Zdar, the Parisian producer and one half of Cassius.
Their album "Alesia" is overall a lot better than the song Coachella posted today. Reminds me of Monarchy a bit at times. Could be a fun act to catch if there aren't any conflicts.
Oh yeah is pretty catchy. Worth a look, imho.
I think this will be a ton of fun. Anyone who liked Yelle last year should not miss them! Their album Forty Love that features "Oh Yeah!" has some other good songs too... "Synthetiseur" is my favorite. Also like "Chateau", "Le Virage", and "Roman".

Totally makes sense because they sound A LOT like Phoenix. Two French boys who started out as session musicians for Air and Phoenix, they got their break when they hooked up with the famous (at least in "French touch" terms) Philippe Zdar, the Parisian producer and one half of Cassius.
edit: and Air
So did anyone see them? Definitely one of my top bands, and my boyfriend's absolute favorite. If you are going weekend 2 I highly recommend getting there early on Sunday to check them out, they are so fun live!
I had no problem showing up 5-10 minutes before and scoring a spot on the railing. Super fun!!
