welcome to the fray! These boards are super useful and don't let the know-it-alls scare you away. My suggestion is that you take some time to read thru existing threads. There's tons of information already available![]()
Hey 1st tiMer... camping in the desert SUCKS !!! When the sun comes out the temperature starts going higher & higher & Higher & HIGHER ... until you run out of tent trying desperately to sleep an extra couple of hours, minutes or seconds... having camped last time for the last time...I scored a two bedroom hotel ...now I need to find actual ticketx for both weekends... maybe someone will trade ???
My advice find a room...any room with ac... good luck ... radiohead is going to be awesome...
Poon. Camping is an all around better experience than a hotel, unless you are 40+ and in no search of the full Coachella experience.
I might be 42, but I feel younger on the inside so I should be able to survive the experience! If not, I am sure someone will snag my wristband before I hit the dirt.
This will be my first year camping for Coachella (if you do not count a couple of years in the Safari tents)...
The economy has been hard on all of us.
Get a canopy and some tarps to hang up to block the sun throughout the day. Get some stakes and a mallet/stake puller to use -- it gets windy. Sleep naked if you can. Bring a good cooler. Be okay with living off of PB&J all weekend. Go to the grocery store early in the morning and get new ice everyday. Shower in the early evening when everyone's still out on the festival grounds. Drink a bottle of water to every beer, no joke, and notice that you never have to pee because you've been sweating so much and are still dehydrated. Trail mix. Bring your own toilet paper. Please shower, I never ran into a line last year and you really don't need to pay for the VIP showers, that's just being ridiculous.
Like a virgin, touched for the very first time
Listen, don't worry about anything, don't plan ahead of time, the weather is great out there!
