I half heartedly played for a little while in the 90s. At the time, some of my friends were pretty into it.

Don't get me wrong, I was definitely geeky in high shcool, but I was too busy doing college application-bolstering extracurricular activities like volunteering for humanitarian organizations and playing varsity sports.

Apparently they still make dual lands in the newest editions. But they come into play tapped unless you control a corresponding basic land type.

If you understood any of that sentence, you played Magic the Gathering

We sold the cards at work. A customer once bought a deck just to give me a demo and show me how great it is. I looked at him, looked at the cards laid out in front of me and decided there and then to embrace a life without Magic: The Gathering.

I collected baseball cards... and garbage pail kids. Never got into any of the other stuff... and I am pretty nerdy, too.

Once for my birthday I got a box of 36 Revised Edition booster packs, which was $60 at the time. I just checked ebay and those packs go for $30 each. Why, oh why, did I have to open them and enjoy them?

I got lots of great cards in that box, though, including 5 dual lands.

A part of me wishes I knew what the fuck you were all talking about... but a bigger part of me is glad that I don't. Maybe this should be in the confessions thread.

I used to play all the time in high school (mid-90's). After high school, I put a bunch of them in a binder, in the hopes that I'd try to get a complete set someday (ha!).

Last fall I needed some money so I got out the binder and sold a bunch of them on eBay. All my dual lands, Library of Alexandria, Bazaar of Baghdad, a beta Time Vault, and several more. I made over $2000.

No, I never had a Black Lotus or any of the Mox gems (though I did have an Ancestral Recall for a short time back in the day).
We're here to play some Mississippi Delta Blues. We're in a horrible depression, and I gotta admit - we're starting to like it.

Never got into magic the gathering, but I LOVED Pokémon cards. I was really into them and then by 5th grade I just gave them all to my cousin.

I played this game for half my life and still have a sizable collection even though I don't use the cards any more.

I was given a set and I used to just draw later versions of the images.

Pokemon is twice as bad as magic IMO. Also ten years later I believe

i only love to play with people who have similar decks. some of the cards are too insane for the game to be any fun.

i would play today too if any of my friends who still played were around.
