I'm doing pretty good so far. Haven't had a drink since the day before new years eve. Went from smoking 30 cigarettes a day down to approx 0.5 a day. I've been a lot calmer behind the wheel as well.

Upcoming shows:
I've now submitted three grad school applications and been invited to come interview at one school. I've read two books, and I've found a training buddy for running. I am scheduled to start tennis lessons next week.
So the only thing I still suck on is the clean house part. And let me tell you, so far that is a MASSIVE failure.
So I did not even almost keep my New Year's Resolution, which was to keep to a schedule of reading, writing, music, and movies every day. In fact, I never even tried to follow my schedule...
But I will amend my resolution to something that I need to do: I will get a 170 or above on the LSAT.
I didn't to too shabby last year. The weight has been slow, but over the past two years, I've lost 30 lbs.
#1: Lose at least 10 more lbs.
I have for the last 3 years vowed to not get any moving vehicle tickets (I mentioned moving, because this excludes meter-maid bullshit) which I have accomplished.
#2: Continue to not get any tickets, or at least get caught.
I managed to finish paying off a bad RC Willey account, so....
#3: Improve credit score or pay off shadow debts
#4: Work on toning and strengthening my legs.
#5: Buy a Passport for future use
#6: Masturbate more
#7: Get an internship or volunteer gig
#8: Watch Berlin Alexanderplatz
#9: Leave the state more than 4 times, even if it's to Bendover
#10: Practise more patience (i.e. for kid, partner, fucking stupid drivers, fucking stupid Mormons, and fucking stupid Ex-husband). I just need to breathe more!
Alright I'll play.
1. I didn't have sex in 2011. That wasn't a resolution from last year, just... yeah. I'd be alright with breaking that cycle. Regularly.
2. Eat virtually no unnecessarily sweet desserts. I was already doing pretty well with this in 2011 but it has carried over so eh. I didn't eat a lot of sugar as a kid and realized it was really making me feel like shit when I'd eat ridiculously sweet crap.
3. Buy a home or at the very least seriously look into home ownership. I'm finally moving to a city where I'm guaranteed some job stability and it'll be a place that I can call my hometown. It would be nice if I could actually make an investment in a place in that city to truly call mine.
4. Get an American Express card. I haven't owned a credit card over some bullshit fear that I'm more impulsive than I actually am. See resolution 1 and how that changed the opinion of myself. My credit is pretty great for someone my age just because of paying other bills on time, etc. but I think I have enough maturity to appropriately maintain and build it up even further.
5. With ensuing stability, regain social life. Pretty self-explanatory.
this has been a lot easier than i thought it would. since this post, i've had two iced-teas, a half a glass of champagne on NYE, a glass of wine a few days later when my friend's house was robbed, and a few shots of jager. not perfect, but still a reduction of intake.
also westy, i hope you're still not smoking! going from 30 a day to hardly anything is quite a feat!
and courtney, i LOVED tennis lessons as a kid. rick and i played a few times; it'd totally play with you!
zack, good luck getting laid![]()
Just to let all you know: Girl Scout cookies should be in your neighborhood within the next few days!!!! Yay for making resolutions more difficult
I'm moving along on these. I have now been invited to three interviews, and the probability that I will be admitted into at least school is now 99%, so that's nice. Assuming I don't majorly fuck up all three interviews.
I'm in my third week of tennis classes. I can now do backhand!
I'm still sucking on the running.
I'm still sucking on the clean house. But I did go to Target the other night and buy a ton of Mrs. Meyers nice smelling cleaning supplies, which is supposed to motivate me.
I have now read three books in 2012, so I'm ahead of schedule there. The last, Lady Chatterley's Lover, was horrendous and I do not recommend it. Working on Pnin now for the board book club.
Well Court, I'm happy to hear things are working out for you. May I ask what you'll be studying in grdschool?
I fail every year
Way to go, Courtney!
