Who is How to dress well? I'm excited for Tame Impala's opener on this tour. They're called the Amazing (members of Dungen). I picked up their LP at Brooklyn Record Fair this weekend and it's pretty great ("Gentle Stream" via Partisan Records on October 23rd). Make sure you check them out!

As compared to the Ty Segall Band album, or the collaboration with White Fence, or Goodbye Bread?

Jesus. He needs to slow down so I can breathe and listen to all of his stuff more than once through.

Goodbye Bread. I've always kind of separated his collaboration acts.

Ha, yeah. I figured he'd take somewhat of a break after Slaughterhouse. Let me know what you think of Twins.

This is not a lie, my god, I'm hooked. Which is why I must attend the show they are playing in Santa Ana. It's with Ceremony, and Titus Andronicus, massive triple bill.

I'm really really liking the Metz album, wish they were playing the Phoenix leg of that Titus Andronicus/Ceremony tour.

I have a feeling that is a one off show for Metz. Metz are playing much smaller venues, none of which are with either Ceremony or Titus.

Yup. Their LA show is at the Echo.

Sounds like a trip to Santa Ana is in order.

So I don't hear the Jesus Lizard in Metz at all. Definitely Drive Like Jehu, some Brainiac, some early Les Savy Fav. Good shit.

Hahaha, it's funny I had heard rumbling about Metz for the past few weeks on FB mainly I think, so I put the album on yesterday and thought it was really good. Bought an Echo ticket immediately after. And of course the album gets BNM'd that night, haha.

It's just refreshing to hear something that has some oomph to it that's not riding the whole psych-garage trend. Pretty straight-forward, and it works real well.
    5/23 - Boris - Echoplex

Enjoying Tall Ships' debut album today... it's nothing too new or mindblowing, but I like the obvious influences enough to also dig the sum of their parts:

That Scott Walker trailer bodes extremely well for this album.

the new bat for lashes was really good upon first listen. but all of her stuff is spectacular.

does anyone have any word on the ben gibbard/ac newman solo releases? i haven't look into them really cause i've been skeptical but if either are worth checking out i'd love to know.

i'm very excited for ducktails new album... it's the lead guitarist of real estate. their last release was very good IMO but if you can't handle the new jersey hipster lifestyle... don't watch this video. cool insight on how these bands share spaces etc. though.
