I wasn't that crazy about Plug's album. Drum and bass can get easily annoying to me, and this definitely did that. Some stupid vocals really ruined a few songs.

Did you listen to LindstrÝm? It's excellent. I thought the Plug album was nice, but I've only listened once. I dig dnb though.

It's an FHG 320 rip, fyi.* Sufficient, and quite common, for an early leak. I'm sure someone on here will announce when the FLAC is up.

*because I do care, I've made my EKG meter a rt-click f'n...so rather simple.

WELL, this LindstrÝm album, at least halfway through, is quite excellent and so far a worthy follow-up to his last record. Wonderful

You all are crazy. It's cheesy trash. And I usually am the one defending Lindstrom's cheesy inclinations. Although maybe it'll grow on me.

I didn't really care for it much either Patrick; it started out ok, and there are some good moments here and there throughout, but overall I wasn't too impressed with the approach he took this time out.

The cheese didn't bother me much haha

Now I'm just finishing a Listen to Alcest's Les Voyages De L'¬me

It's very lush and melodic with clear inspiration by both shoegazer and prog-rock bands, with bursts of black metal every once in a while. i really like it.

The new Maccabees is really starting off this year with a bang (for me). It reminds me of a bit more shoegazy Foals with just the right amount of dream.pop. I am liking the new of Montreal as well...it's a bit of a mess, but in a good way. Barnes' songwriting about fidelity/marriage is entertaining.

This album is seriously kicking my ass upon the first few listens. They really turned up the psychedelia and turned down the gay with this one, much to my liking (that's not meant to be offensive btw, I've just really never been able to get into them in the past and it's just how I feel mannn). The last few songs are absolutely insane, and Dour Percentage is pretty much the best ELO song that Jeff Lynne never wrote.

Seriously. I've never seen them live before, and with tickets for their Wiltern show being only $25 after fees, I bought one as soon as I got through with one listen of the new album. Pretty fucking excited.

They're a lot of fun. I was ambivalent towards them as well. That all changed after catching their Fillmore set last year. I think you'll dig it.

And on another note, to no surprise The Big Pink's new album is fucking awful.

They were really fun at Avalon in May. Expect a very strange crowd, lots of weird costumes. Not to mention strange stage theatrics like people in giant titty costumes. Is this an all ages show? If not it'll be even weirder...

Chris - hopefully you can hook the group up with the Terje, as I am still not totally proficient in how all of that works.

I also came here to say that I haven't done very much 2012 listening yet, but that the new Goth-Trad album New Epoch is impressive on many levels.
