I no longer believe The Morning Benders changed their name for the reasons they stated. I believe they changed it because they have decided to become a different band entirely and their new single isn't very good.

Speaking of pretty vocals and beautiful soundscapes, Mina Tindle's debut Taranta is divine. For those who haven't heard of her she's a classically-trained Parisian singer-songwriter. I was really surprised no one's mentioned the album in this thread yet. I imagine her sound as a chamber-pop-inflected cross-section of a triple layer Julia-Feist-Van Etten cake.. PM me for a copy.

Thank you for this recommendation. After listening to the record a few times I think I can safely say that it is amongst my absolute favorites of the year thus far. Though I do tend to have a soft spot for female singer-songwriters of her ilk.

i actually like the new Walkmen, but I have only heard Lisbon and the new one. The song with Robin from Fleet Foxes is nice but my favorite is The Love You Love.

Me too - it sounded completely flat and bland to me upon the first listen. It's as if all the things which made this band interesting in the first place were almost entirely stripped away.
