Yeah I really like this Trust album so far. Quite a few songs I wouldn't mind seeing live. Heavy on the bass and a dark 80's vibe. I think it would be a bizarre crowd.
Unfortunately missing them in SF on account of Coachella. They're sharing a bill w/ Housse de Racket. Wondering what doofus dreamed up that combo?
Yeah that is a strange combo. If Trust is touring with Housse de Racket then Coachella dropped the ball in not adding Trust. I would think they are better add then Mea and the other one. Does anyone know where Trust is from? It isnt the french 80's band that is on spotify's biography or wikipedia page.
thanks. just found that out on pitchfork. should have figured to look there.

Sean McCann & Matthew Sullivan (Earn)'s Vanity Fair is pretty brilliant. It kicks off with a very McCann-ish string-driven ambient drone tune that is not exactly indicative of the rest of the album. The remainder veers into definite EAI-ish territory, which was pretty shocking to me. Small segments even reminded me of Lambkin/Lescalleet type stuff... and sometimes even the quiet bits of The Shadow Ring. Then there are quick trips back to the surface for more tangible ambient sections... It's a really balanced record that has a few extraordinary moments. Not really what I was expecting, but a fantastic surprise that demands some serious attention.
Sounds great, definitely will check it out. I dug that kiwi punk also.
Mentioned this in the downtempo/idm thread, but I'm loving Giriu Dvasios's new album Visa. So groovy and deep.

The Men's new record Open Your Heart finally leaked. Only a few songs in, but I'm pretty sure my neighbors already hate me because it's up so loud. The album is absolute rock and roll with balls...

Heck yeah. Although I'm still mad that I missed what was likely Rene Hell's only Porcelain Opera-centric LA set.

nah he did a bunch of porcelain opera sets... just before it came out... :P
from what I understand he's doing more straight computer music sets these days. but who knows... for all I know he might go back to pedals. dude is unpredictable.
Probably sounded a bit like the Jeff Witscher & Mark Lewis - Gait Analysis cdr he just put out on his "new" label... You could always give that a listen (it's on ?)...
Really disjointed stuff.
Rene Hell will just be additional entertainment for Saturday as far as I'm concerned, Sean and Matt's set is where that night will be at.

I love this title, I just think it's so funny for some reason.
Listened to the Andrew Bird album driving back from LA last night. There are some really great tracks that I already sing along to and there are some snoozers. I love the good tracks though, his Coachella set should be fun.

I'm just getting to the end of this now, and I really liked it. But man, "Space Tunnel Graffitti" really comes out left field, doesn't it? The album felt really of a certain cloth for the most part, and then that song pops up at the end, but it was a welcome curve ball. Excited to listen to this one more in the future, and he seems like he'd be a great live show.

Rhythm is a dancer.
Origami Vinyl just released an ep from this Echo park band called NO on vinyl. They sound like a mixture of The National and Arcade Fire. It's pretty good. They're playign a Monday night residency at the Echo this month.
You can stream/download the album for free. http://soundcloud.com/nomusicforme/s...ull-be-here-1/

Hahaha. I finally listened to this today and I think I enjoyed it for precisely those reasons. I was listening to it while reading and all of a sudden I realized I had hopped on my beach cruiser and biked to the 7-11 down the street and was biking back with a diet pepsi soda.
